# Assign roles for API Insights users

Assign roles to control access to features, capabilities, and data in the API Insights application.

## Before you begin

Set the application scope to API Insights using the application picker. For more information, see [Application picker](https://raw.githubusercontent.com/ServiceNow/ServiceNowDocs/australia/markdown/application-development/c_ApplicationPicker.md).

Role required: admin

## About this task

Users with the sn\_api\_insights\_ws.api\_mgmt\_architect\_admin, sn\_api\_insights\_ws.api\_mgmt\_architect, or sn\_cmdb\_admin roles can use the API Insights application.
