Legacy status values for Asset and Hardware Asset CIs are aligned with CSDM life cycle stage and life cycle stage status values.

## Asset status values aligned to CSDM life cycle values

|Asset / Hardware Asset status value|CSDM life cycle value|Notes|
|-----------------------------------|---------------------|-----|
|Ordered|Plan / Design|The asset is planned/procured but not yet deployed.|
|In Stock → In Use|Build / Deploy|Assets are configured and then deployed for consumption.|
|In Use / In Maintenance|Consume / Operate|The asset is actively supporting services or under maintenance.|
|Pending Disposal / Disposed|Retire|Asset life cycle ends. CSDM also transitions to retirement.|
