# Health score configuration

Configure how article and knowledge base health scores are calculated. You can view the default configuration, clone it to create a custom configuration, link knowledge bases to the configuration, and update category and scan weights.

The **Configuration steps** for configuring the health score are:

-   Overview - view and manage your active configurations including the number of knowledge bases linked to each of the active configurations.
-   Default configuration - view default weights at the article and knowledge base levels, and the list of knowledge bases linked to the default configuration.
-   Custom configuration - clone the default configuration to assign custom weights to scans at the article and knowledge base levels, and link or remove knowledge bases as needed.
-   Understand - learn how the knowledge base health score is calculated and how to configure it.

**Note:**

-   The Article health score is based on its overall health score factors.
-   The Knowledge base health score is calculated by the aggregated average of all the articles' health scores of a knowledge base.
