# Create a finance case

Create a finance case on behalf of a requester to track the progress.

## Before you begin

Role required: sn\_fin\_ops.specialist

## Procedure

1.  Navigate to either of the following:

    -   **All** > **Finance Operations** > **Finance Operations Workspace**.
    -   **Workspaces** > **Finance Operations Workspace**.
2.  In the Finance Operations workspace, select the List icon \[Omitted image "fin-ops-list-icon.png"\] Alt text:.

3.  From the list page, navigate to either of the following submodules:

    -   **My work** > **Open cases**
    -   **All work** > **Cases**
4.  Select **New** from within a submodule.

5.  From the Case type drop-down list, select **Finance Inquiry**.

6.  Select **Submit**.

    The Create New Finance Case form opens in a new tab in the Finance Operations Workspace. \[Omitted image "fin-ops-create-case-ws.png"\] Alt text: Create a finance case

    **Note:** If you have access to Source-to-Pay Workspace and if you select a case type related to Source-to-Pay operations, the new form opens in a new browser tab in the Source-to-Pay Workspace.

7.  On the Create New Finance Case form, fill in the fields.

8.  Select **Save**.
