# Privacy Policy – SteamBuddy **Last updated:** July 22, 2026 SteamBuddy is a browser extension that helps users automate claiming free games from Steam and Epic Games Store and redirects Steam Store links to open in the Steam client. ## Data Collection SteamBuddy does **not** collect, store, sell, or share personally identifiable information. The extension does not collect: * Names * Email addresses * Passwords * Payment information * Health information * Location data * Personal communications ## Website Access SteamBuddy requires access to supported websites in order to: * Detect Steam and Epic Games Store pages. * Automate user-requested actions. * Redirect Steam Store links to the Steam desktop client. * Provide extension functionality on supported websites. The extension may read page content that is necessary to perform these functions. This information is processed locally within the user's browser and is not transmitted to the developer. ## Local Storage SteamBuddy uses the Chrome Storage API to store extension settings and user preferences locally on the user's device. No personal information is stored. ## Notifications SteamBuddy may display browser notifications related to extension actions, such as successful completion of automated tasks. ## Remote Services SteamBuddy does not execute remotely hosted code. If the extension communicates with Steam, Epic Games, Discord, or other external services, it does so only to provide its intended functionality.
