--- name: gatekeeper-questions description: "Find the gatekeeper questions of a film project on untitled.movie, the few questions every later choice depends on, each with options and a recommendation, and record them as questions in the bible. Use when the author asks what has to be decided first, asks for gatekeeper questions, or starts developing a story." --- # Gatekeeper questions The few questions every later choice depends on: whose story it is, the register, the ending, the rules of the world. They are answered before anything is built on them. ## Before you start Work in a session: unless one is open in this conversation, call `start_session` with the author's request as `trigger`. Read the brief it returns: premise, touchstone, canon and the open questions. You propose, the author decides. ## Steps 1. Don't ask again what canon already settles. Name it with its label instead. 2. Propose three to seven questions. For each: two to four real options, what each one enables and what it costs, and your recommendation with a reason. 3. Record them with `add_bible_items` as items of type `question`, with `data.options` and `data.recommendation`, linked to what they touch. 4. If the project has a roadmap: set the station `gatekeeper_questions` to in progress with `update_station` unless it already is, and add what you made with `add_outputs`. Leave marking it done to the author. 5. Tell the author the questions with their labels and which one you would answer first. Don't answer the questions for the author and don't add canon. If the author asks for something different from these steps, do what the author asks.
