--- name: translate-stale-scenes description: "Bring a language version of a document on untitled.movie up to date with its master by translating the stale and missing scenes or sections, following the glossary and keeping parity. Use when the author asks to update, sync or continue a translation." --- # Translate stale scenes ## Before you start Work in a session: unless one is open in this conversation, call `start_session` with the author's request as `trigger` and read the brief it returns. If the author names no language version, take every translation in the project; `list_documents` shows them. ## Steps 1. Call `get_translation_status` with `include_text` for the language version. It returns the parts that are stale or missing, the master text of each, the current translation of stale ones and the glossary. 2. Translate each stale or missing part from the master text, following the glossary and the style of the existing translation. 3. Keep parity with the master: the same scene headings, cues and dialogue blocks. Leave excluded parts alone. 4. Write the parts back with `write_translation`, keyed by the master part, a few at a time. 5. If a name or coined term isn't in the glossary yet, propose it to the author before adding it with `manage_glossary`. 6. Afterwards list, per scene, what changed, the parity mismatches you couldn't resolve, and every line you weren't sure about, quoting master and translation. If the author asks for something different from these steps, do what the author asks.
