Manta Studio – Privacy Policy Last updated: 12 October 2026 This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when merchants install and use our Shopify apps. It applies to all of the following apps (each an "App", together the "Apps"): • Manta Studio • Cursor Manta • Image Reveal Manta • Page Progression Manta • Page Transition Manta • Scroll Animations Manta • Scrollbar Manta • Smooth Scroll Manta • Text Reveal Manta Who we are The Apps are made by Tell van den Bergh applications, based in the Netherlands ("we", "our", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@mantastudio.app. Information we access When you install an App, Shopify gives it access to the following information about your store: • Basic store details, such as your store name, store domain (myshopify.com address) and the contact email address of your store • Your themes and their settings, so the App can show whether its effect is switched on in your live theme and on which pages it is used • Your store's languages, so Manta Studio can show its admin in your language The Apps do not request access to your products, orders, customers or payments. Information we store • Plan and preferences: whether your store is on the Free or Pro plan, which messages you have dismissed in the App (such as the setup guide), and whether we have asked for a review. This is stored in your own Shopify store, as app data attached to your installation. It is deleted automatically when you uninstall the App. • Login sessions: so an App can talk to your store through Shopify's APIs, including when Shopify notifies us of plan changes, we store a login session for your store (your store domain and an access token from Shopify). Sessions are deleted when you uninstall the App. • Support messages: if you contact us through the support form in an App or by email, we receive your name, email address, store domain and your message. We keep these only as long as needed to help you, and no longer than 24 months. Your customers The Apps do not collect, store or process any personal information about your customers or store visitors. The visual effects run in your visitors' browsers. Three effects save a small technical value in the visitor's browser, without any personal information: • The custom cursor remembers where it was on the screen, so it stays in place when a visitor opens the next page. This is kept for the browser session only. • Page Transition remembers where a visitor clicked, so the "open" transition starts from that point on the next page. This is kept for the browser session only. • The "Pro feature" notice remembers that it was closed, so it isn't shown again right away. This notice only appears in the theme editor and on unpublished theme previews, never on your live store. The Apps do not use advertising or analytics cookies, and do not track visitors. How we use your information We use the information above only to: • Make the Apps work in your store and show you their status • Know which plan you are on, so Pro effects work on your live store when you have Pro • Answer your support questions • Send you important notices about an App, such as changes to the service or the App being discontinued We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising. Service providers We use a small number of trusted service providers to run the Apps. They only process information on our behalf and according to our instructions: • Shopify – hosts your store, handles billing for the Apps and stores the app data described above • Vercel – hosts the Apps' servers. Like any web host, it keeps short-lived technical logs, which may include IP addresses • Upstash – stores the login sessions described above • Resend – delivers the messages sent through the support form to our inbox We do not share your information with anyone else, unless the law requires us to. Legal basis We process your information because it is necessary to provide the Apps you installed (performance of a contract), and to answer your questions and keep the Apps secure (our legitimate interests). Your rights You can uninstall an App at any time from your Shopify admin. This immediately ends our access to your store, and the app data stored in your store is removed. You can also ask us to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you, such as your support messages, by emailing hello@mantastudio.app. We respond within 30 days. We also act on the data requests Shopify sends us on your or your customers' behalf. If you are in the European Economic Area and you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can file a complaint with the Dutch data protection authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) or the authority in your own country.
