# SIX7
**Private peer-to-peer DMs for YouTube rooms.**
SIX7 is a Chrome extension that adds temporary private messaging and peer-to-peer file sharing between SIX7 users on the same YouTube watch page.
It is built for quick, in-the-moment conversations during a live chat or replay session without needing to post contact info publicly.
## What SIX7 does
* Adds a private DM panel to supported YouTube watch pages
* Lets SIX7 users in the same room discover each other
* Supports direct peer-to-peer chat when connected
* Supports simple peer-to-peer file sharing
* Uses your visible YouTube identity only for in-room display
* Does not store chat messages or files on a SIX7 server
## Privacy-first by design
SIX7 is designed around temporary room presence and direct peer-to-peer communication.
Messages and shared files are sent directly between connected users when possible. SIX7 does not operate a message-storage server and does not store private chats or files.
Cloudflare infrastructure may be used for limited presence, rendezvous, and signaling so users can find and connect to each other. It is not used to store chat messages or files.
