# DeskBox License Change

DeskBox changed its project license from the MIT License to the GNU General
Public License version 3 only (`GPL-3.0-only`).

## Effective Scope

- DeskBox versions and source revisions that were already published under the
  MIT License remain available under the MIT License.
- Source code and releases published after this license change are licensed
  under `GPL-3.0-only`, unless a file or third-party dependency states a
  different license.
- The license change is not retroactive. It does not revoke rights that users
  already received under the MIT License for earlier DeskBox versions.

## What This Means

You may use, study, modify, and redistribute GPL-licensed DeskBox versions under
the terms of GPLv3.

If you distribute a modified GPL-licensed DeskBox version, you must also provide
the corresponding source code under GPLv3.

## Branding

The DeskBox name, logo, icons, release packaging, website copy, and other
branding assets are not automatically granted for use in unofficial commercial
or misleading distributions. Please do not present modified builds as official
DeskBox releases.
