## 0. Evidence sources and limits
This document joins three evidence chains:
| Source | Coverage | How it is used |
|---|---|---|
| [MotherSphere, *NIKKE PC launcher compromise*](https://gist.github.com/MotherSphere/d6c049a09ba8ac3085c51ee9df24a4e5) | One infected machine's launcher logs, caches, official CDN files, upstream JS loader and live-service observations | Treated as **reported evidence** for initial delivery, runtime state and event timing; this repository only re-checked the current objects on 2026-11-04 and does not claim to reproduce the original delivery |
| This repository's static sample analysis | `Sample-A.dll`, `Sample-B.bundle`, the 19-command RAT, collection surface, C2 protocol and Chrome DLL delivery | Treated as **sample evidence** for payload capabilities and persistence |
| [Issue #1](https://github.com/WormW/nikke_malware_analysis/issues/1) and the [public gist](https://gist.github.com/Iwassoobsessedwith/c08ca5a912227e5cbd7df581e4ea5410) | Discovery and original copy of the third and fourth poisoned official assets, plus host-side observations | Treated as **third-party reported evidence**; this repository re-fetched the objects, computed hashes and independently decoded the injected block |
| [Issue #1 evidence-package comment](https://github.com/WormW/nikke_malware_analysis/issues/1#issuecomment-6624694726) | An 18-file evidence package, two execution logs, an earlier build, a second C2 IP and the `vue` variant | Treated as **third-party reported evidence**; the ZIP and its internal `SHA256SUMS.txt` were verified, but samples were not executed and the older build was not independently verified |
Two exact hashes connect the chains:
1. The report's `insight.bundle` SHA-256, `cc0ad05bfe85940a6067b3a72c182d3953339129206634141926d5d0b35973ec`, is identical to this repository's `Sample-B.bundle`.
2. The report's 9,145-byte `l.js`, SHA-256 `9617d04eb82ad804b55115d123fa3954711f44f318c9cf09c9b4857a24cba644`, matches the copy obtained during this research. It is the harmless `/speed` replacement observed after **2026-11-03 17:30 GMT**, not the earlier payload-downloading version.
The delivery chain therefore comes from the report and Issue #1, while the RAT capabilities are independently supported by static analysis of the same bundle. The source of CDN write access, victim count and whether every earlier bundle was the same build remain unknown.
