# Privacy Policy — Digger Land **Last updated:** April 18, 2026 This Privacy Policy describes how the mobile application **Digger Land** (“App”, “we”) processes information on iOS devices. The data controller is the owner of the App and the corresponding legal entity listed in the App Store (the “Operator”). For data-related inquiries, please use the contact information provided at the end of this document. --- ## 1. General Provisions By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App or restrict the relevant permissions in your iOS settings. The App is designed for map-based activities: drawing and recording search areas while you move, saving progress and media on the device, and optional Game Center leaderboard features (as described in the App Store). --- ## 2. Data We May Process ### 2.1. Location and Movement - **Location data** (coordinates, accuracy, and related signals) when you grant **While Using the App** and/or **Always** location access. - **Purpose:** displaying the map, following your position, computing and recording the search area (polygon) during an active session, and persisting session geometry locally. The App declares **background location** (`UIBackgroundModes: location`) so that, when you start a recording and grant **Always** access, location updates can continue if you switch apps or lock the screen—consistent with the system permission prompts. --- ### 2.2. Camera - The **device camera** is used to **capture photos** that you attach to points (“finds”) on the map when you grant camera access. - Images you attach are stored **on the device** as part of your local game data (see §2.4). They are not described in this Policy as being uploaded to the Operator’s servers; if that changes, the App Store listing and this Policy should be updated. --- ### 2.3. Photo Library - **Photo library** access (via the system photo picker) may be used to **choose existing images** to attach to map points when you grant permission and use the feature. --- ### 2.4. Game Data (Local) - Session and map data—including **saved lands/events**, **boundary geometry**, **area metrics**, **map points**, **notes**, **custom icons**, and **attached photos** (stored as files referenced from the local database)—may be stored **locally** on your device using the **Realm** database and app storage. - A **stable install identifier** may be generated and kept in **UserDefaults** on the device for technical consistency (for example, internal bookkeeping on that installation). It is not described here as being transmitted to the Operator’s servers. Core profile and gameplay data are processed **on-device** unless and until you introduce cloud or backend features; check the App Store description and release notes for the current behavior. --- ### 2.5. Apple Game Center - If you sign in to **Game Center**, Apple processes authentication and leaderboard data under [Apple’s privacy policies](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). - The App may submit a **leaderboard score** derived from your **total mapped area** (aggregated from locally stored lands) to Game Center. That involves sharing the score with Apple’s Game Center service, not with a custom Operator backend by default. --- ### 2.6. Device Identifiers and Advertising - **Google Mobile Ads (AdMob)** and related components (such as **Google User Messaging Platform** for consent where applicable) may collect and use identifiers (for example **IDFA**, depending on your Apple tracking settings), ad impressions, and interaction data in accordance with Google’s policies. - The App may show **App Open** ads and other formats supported by the integrated SDK. - **SKAdNetwork** identifiers may be declared in the App to support **ad attribution** in line with Apple’s requirements. --- ### 2.7. Maps - **Google Maps SDK for iOS** is used for map rendering. Related requests may be sent to Google infrastructure in accordance with the [Google Maps Platform Terms](https://cloud.google.com/maps-platform/terms) and [Google’s Privacy Policy](https://policies.google.com/privacy). --- ### 2.8. Technical Data and Logs - The App may generate **technical logs** on the device (for example via Apple’s **Unified Logging / `Logger`**) for diagnostics during development and troubleshooting. - Integrated third-party libraries (via CocoaPods) may include **Google Maps**, **Google Mobile Ads SDK** (and related measurement/consent components), and **Realm**. Actual behavior depends on the shipped build and dependencies. --- ### 2.9. Third-Party Links - The App may open **external links** in Safari or other apps. Those services operate under their own privacy policies. --- ## 3. Purpose of Processing - Providing core features (maps, location, recording search areas, saving progress and photos) - Optional Game Center leaderboard functionality - Displaying personalized or non-personalized advertising (depending on user settings, consent, and region) - Improving App stability and security - Complying with legal obligations --- ## 4. Legal Basis (EEA/UK Users) Where applicable, processing is based on: - Performance of a contract (providing the App) - Consent (iOS permissions, advertising/tracking where required) - Legitimate interests (security, limited diagnostics) - Legal obligations --- ## 5. Sharing with Third Parties Data may be processed by integrated service providers, including: | Category | Provider / Service | Notes | |------------|---------------------------|--------------------------------------------| | Maps | Google (Maps SDK) | Governed by Google policies | | Advertising| Google (AdMob, UMP, etc.) | Governed by Google and ad partners | | Leaderboards | Apple (Game Center) | Governed by Apple policies | | Local storage | Realm (on device) | Data stored locally on the device | The Operator does **not sell personal data** in the sense of selling contact lists or personal datasets. --- ## 6. Data Retention - Game data is primarily stored **on the device** until you delete the App or remove data within the App where supported. - Data processed by **Google** or **Apple** is retained according to their policies. - Deleting the App typically removes local app data from the device; **iCloud or device backups** may retain copies depending on your settings. --- ## 7. Security The Operator applies reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data. No mobile application can guarantee absolute security. Users should protect their devices (passcode, Face ID, timely OS updates). --- ## 8. Your Rights Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to: - Access, correct, or delete data - Restrict or object to processing - Data portability (where applicable) - Withdraw consent (without affecting prior lawful processing) - Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority Many controls are available in iOS: **Settings → Privacy & Security** (Location, Camera, Photos, Tracking) or by deleting the App. Game Center data is managed through your Apple ID and Game Center settings. --- ## 9. Children The App is not intended to knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or other age as defined by local law). If you believe a child has provided data, contact the Operator for assistance. --- ## 10. International Transfers Use of Google and other providers may involve processing outside your country of residence, subject to applicable safeguards (for example Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions, depending on regulations and provider practices). --- ## 11. Changes to This Policy The Operator may update this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date will be revised accordingly. Material changes may also be communicated via App Store updates or within the App. --- ## 12. Contact **Operator:** _[legal name / entity as in App Store Connect]_ **Privacy contact email:** _[please insert your contact email]_ **Public Privacy Policy URL (for App Store):** _[insert URL where this policy is hosted]_ --- ### Note for App Store Submission Apple typically requires a **publicly accessible Privacy Policy URL**. Host this document on your website, GitHub Pages, or similar, and enter the link in App Store Connect. Have the policy reviewed for compliance with your jurisdiction and your **actual** data practices before publication. --- *This document reflects the Digger Land iOS project structure and dependencies as understood at the date above. Update it when you add backends, analytics, additional SDKs, or change how location, ads, or Game Center are used.*
