## Overview
Focus Mode is committed to protecting your privacy. This extension operates entirely locally on your device and does not collect, transmit, or share any user data.

## Data Collection
**We DO NOT collect:**
- Personally identifiable information (name, email, address)
- Browsing history or web activity
- Website content or user behavior
- Location data
- Authentication credentials
- Financial information
- Personal communications
- Any other user data

## Data Storage
All extension settings are stored **locally on your device** using the browser's storage API:
- Your custom blocked website lists
- Focus session timer preferences
- Schedule configurations
- Penalty/cooldown statistics

**This data NEVER leaves your device.** It is not transmitted to any servers, third parties, or external services.

## Permissions Explained
The extension requests the following permissions:

### Storage Permission
- **Purpose:** Save your settings locally on your device
- **Data Access:** Only extension configuration data
- **Privacy Impact:** None - data stays local

### Tabs Permission
- **Purpose:** Manage already-open tabs matching blocked sites
- **Data Access:** Only tab URLs to compare against your block list
- **Privacy Impact:** None - no browsing history collected

### DeclarativeNetRequest Permission
- **Purpose:** Block navigation to websites you specify
- **Data Access:** Only domains you explicitly add to your block list
- **Privacy Impact:** None - no data collection or transmission

### Host Permissions (<all_urls>)
- **Purpose:** Enable blocking of any website you choose to add
- **Data Access:** Only to block user-configured sites
- **Privacy Impact:** None - we don't monitor or collect browsing data

## Third-Party Services
This extension does NOT use:
- Analytics services (no Google Analytics, etc.)
- Tracking tools
- External servers or APIs
- Cloud storage
- Advertising networks
- Any third-party services

## Data Sharing
**We do NOT share, sell, or transfer any data** because we don't collect any data in the first place. Your privacy is absolute.

## Changes to Settings
You have complete control:
- View your settings in the extension options page
- Modify your blocked site lists at any time
- Delete all data by uninstalling the extension
- No data recovery needed - everything is local

## Children's Privacy
This extension does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. Since no data collection occurs, COPPA compliance is inherent.

## Updates to This Policy
Any changes to this privacy policy will be reflected in extension updates and posted to our GitHub repository. The "Last Updated" date will be modified accordingly.
