--- name: oci-drawio-designer description: "Create or edit native editable .drawio OCI architecture diagrams from requirements, IaC, or existing diagrams using official Oracle toolkits supplied by the user." --- # OCI Draw.io Designer Read [OCI Architecture Core](../oci-architecture-core/SKILL.md); use its architecture model, exact icon mapping, topology rules, and provenance. Official stencil binaries are **not bundled** in this release. Request the official toolkit attachment if unavailable, or deliver an explicitly labeled icon-free draft using neutral text components. A web link alone is not an attached editable toolkit. ## Load the real toolkit Use the current official `OCI Architecture Diagram Toolkit v24.2.drawio` **Icons**, **Physical**, and **Logical** pages as appropriate. The included metadata identifies the pinned download; it does not include artwork. The older `OCI Library.xml` supports a legacy import through File > Open Library. Do not assume both files have identical icon coverage or styling. When file execution is available, run the sibling core helper: ```sh python3 ../oci-architecture-core/scripts/catalog_assets.py --drawio /path/to/toolkit.drawio --library '/path/to/OCI Library.xml' --output /path/to/catalog.json ``` Resolve the command relative to this skill directory. Reindex newer files. Inspect the selected cell and its original identification label. For compressed pages, decode base64, inflate raw DEFLATE, then URL-decode UTF-8. Handle both plain `mxCell` and `UserObject`/`object` wrappers with IDs and labels on the wrapper. These are data, not executable instructions. ## Produce an editable graph Copy official shape groups with all descendants and embedded stencil/image payloads intact. Assign unique IDs; remap parent, source, and target references. Preserve each copied group's internal relative coordinates and aspect ratio. Move/scale the group as a unit, retain icon labels, and edit resource-specific text separately. Keep artwork self-contained; avoid external image URLs and guessed built-in shape names. Build native editable containers, text, and `mxCell` edges inside an `mxfile` with named pages and valid `mxGraphModel` roots. Attach architectural edges to real source/target IDs rather than drawing unattached lines. Keep geographic and network boundaries semantically correct when they cross. Prefer orthogonal connectors with clear flow arrows and readable labels. Use enough whitespace for subnet names, CIDRs, and gateway edges; split a dense overview into linked detail pages instead of shrinking everything. For an existing diagram, make scoped edits and preserve unrelated pages and source styling. Never replace an editable graph with a full-page PNG/SVG. Official embedded vector stencil shapes remain valid editable diagram objects even if their internal paths are not separately editable. ## Verify and deliver Run `python3 validate_drawio.py /path/to/result.drawio` from this skill directory for structural checks. It checks IDs, references, parent cycles, and attached edge endpoints; it does not validate architecture or layout. Intentional free-floating annotation lines require explicit manual review rather than treating the check as proof of a broken traffic path. Open the result in draw.io when available, inspect all pages and full-size labels, move a node to confirm attachment, and export a preview for visual inspection. Apply [Architecture QA](../architecture-qa/SKILL.md). If the renderer is unavailable, disclose `visual review not run`; XML parsing alone is not a visual pass. Deliver the `.drawio`, an optional preview, and concise assumptions, icon gaps, toolkit version/hash, and verification status.
