# Redesign something in rounds Use this when a page, a template or a format needs a real redesign, more than a tweak. Working in rounds keeps the big calls yours and the work moving. ```text I want to redesign [the thing]. Run it in rounds. Round one: 1. Study 3 to 5 role models for this kind of thing: my own best work and outside pieces I admire. Look at each one at the sizes people see it, on a phone and on a laptop, and write down in one line what to copy from each. 2. Look at my current version the same way and list what's wrong with it, worst first. 3. Mock the new version in HTML at real sizes, as close to buildable as you can. Where there's a real choice, mock two or three options side by side instead of picking for me, and say which you'd pick and why. 4. Put it all on one review page: the role models, my current version, the mock, and the decisions that are mine, numbered. After I answer, save every pick to house-style/lessons.md in my words. Run another round for anything still open. Build only what I've approved, then check it at phone, tablet and laptop widths (for a web page, run house-style/check_page.py if Playwright is installed) and show me the result. ``` Every pick you make in a round becomes a lesson, so the next redesign starts with them.
