SAP BW Analysis Authorizations on the ADSO data?

Hi All,

I would like to understand, if it is possible to have the SAP BW Analysis Authorization concept on the ADSO data i.e. without creating the Composite provider or query?

There is an external system connected to BW which directly access the ADSO tables to retrieve the data. It is required to enable the data authorizations on the ADSO data.

Help Needed.

We want to transition our users from BEx Web to UI5 Portal and Analysis for Office - Excel. However, large numbers of users like using BEx Web favorites, variants, and bookmarks for personal task efficiency.

Unfortunately, when using Save as Query View, all views seem to go to a general directory where user see and EDIT everyone else's query views. Not an acceptable replacement for BEx query favorites, variants, and bookmarks .

Is there an easy way for users to create a personalized list of personalized favorites? Preferably only visible to the individual user, but sharable?

I have a requirement that to pass 0calyear based on ycalmonth on cube using customer exit variable. In cube we have data as below.

Version 700 data in cube

In the bex query created a YCALMONTH based variable of manual input. If user enters 12.2023 as YCALMONTH, it means we are having 0CALYEAR's are 2023 and 2024 for YCALMONTH.

In for V100 if we have 2023 and 2024 as 0CALYEAR.

Question: In LY column how to pass 0calyear's based on ycalmonth's - 0calyear's on cube using customer exit variable?

I have a requirement where in we need to stop sending data to SAP BW from SAP ECC system. I think the data is going because of this job that starts with BIREQU_ . But I dont know how the job is getting created. Everyday the variant is different and name last part is different.

Could you please help me in knowing how to stop this job from getting created. How to stop data flow to SAP BW.

Paste multiple values to the table by VBA

Hello!

I need to paste the multiple values from Excel to the table control using VBA.

The data is being pasted only by the last visible row, I cannot paste them all, cannot even do it manually (I think it should be possible as clipboard, but cannot find it in this table).

I have found here solutions like Clipboard method but I am not able to use them, because it is not VBA and I do not know this programming language.

Can someone please help me with that problem?

Our client is planning to upgrade the BW application from : BW/4HANA 2.0 SP10 to BW/4HANA 2023.

We would like to collect the key information's like below as part of our analysis , Could you please help me with the information which will help us for the same.

- Whether we need to migrate it to version 2021 first or directly migrated to version 2023

Dear BW Experts,

We are currently migrating the Old BW flows using In-place migration. For performing this, We got one SAP note 2383530 from SAP which has all authorization objects and other details. In the SAP Note, the Authorization Object S_DEVELOP and S_RFC is specified. I just want to know, what are the tasks that will support, while adding the authorization objects S_DEVELOP and S_RFC to the User. I have an idea that, S_DEVELOP auth object is specific to ABAP. But want to know specific tasks related to ABAP.

I also want to know about the Auth object S_RFC. Could you please let me know what are tasks that will allow specific to Auth Object S_RFC.

How to use CDS View in Calculation View?

Hi,

I want to create a new Calculation View with a CDS View named CSTOCKQUANVALCUR, but I cannot create a Virtual Table because I think CSTOCKQUANVALCUR needs parameters.

That's why I looked at the view that is the source of CSTOCKQUANVALCUR and saw that the CDS View named 'PMATSTKQTYVALCU1' has no parameters. Also, when I checked, I saw that I could create a Virtual Table with this CDS View.

After creating the Virtual Table, I selected this CDS View in SQL Console, but I saw that no data came. I selected this View directly in the Source System instead of Virtual Table, but no data came again.

However, when I do Data Preview in ABAP or look at SE11/SE16N, I see data coming.

My question is this: How can I use this CDS View in Calculation View? If there is an authorization problem, how can I pass it?

Dynamic data partitioning in BW4/HANA

HI,

We are trying to implement Dynamic data partitioning on ACDOCA ADSO which is built on a streaming process.

The current volume data in ADSO is around 2 B records. The automated partitioning on data base level which is hash partition is implemented.

When we tried dynamic partitioning on the active table through BW application perspective in properties. The field 'Fiscal Year' is selected as field for partition. Granularity Field is greyed out.

indexserver.ini -> [partitioning] ->"allow_dynamic_range_partitioning" with value "true” is set.

After this the ADSO is checked and activated which further prompts for remodeling, after the successful remodeling of an ADSO, it is observed that there is no impact on ADSO Active table, which means the partition is not implemented.

Question is there any prerequisite or any missed step which is missed here because of which the active table is not partitioned?

Also is this activity a transport required activity or can be done directly in production?

I've created a CDS view that I would like to use as a source (modeler) in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC).

When I use this source in a SAC Story (bar chart), I encounter a problem where the values are mixed up between dimensions and measures.

Is there a way to define the columns as dimensions and measures in CDS?

BW Transformation end routine populated field list

Hi gurus,

despite what I can see in structure, in end routine the result_package type _ty_s_TG_1 contains all fields, including the ones not mapped with any rule.

Investigating in generated program code I found the method get_fields_populated0001, but neither this method nor the output table are visible in end routine.

How can I get this field list?

Dear Experts,

I want to display current date in one of the field routine of the BW transformations. I wrote the below code in field routine and getting the error message as
Incorrect syntax error near :CUR_DATE.

I am trying to call my class in one of my BW transformations.

To make it simple, I just created a Class (SYSTEM_DATE_CLASS) which will give the output as System date.

In my BW transformation, I just created a new Info-object "CUR_DATE" in my ADSO. While loading the date to ADSO, I need to write a field routine by calling the system date Class and populate the date for the field CUR_DATE in the ADSO.
