I wanted to try out some "flat" modeling on IoT Services/Leonardo IoT. I was wondering if there is any limit to the number of Capabilities that a SensorType can have, and on also to the number of PropertySets/Property that a ThingType can have.

I did not find any reference in the documentation so if there is, could you please point me to it?

Thanks and BR!

We have 2 different use cases for ingesting measurements/messages into SAP IoT:

- "Direct" connected devices publishing messages via MQTT
- "File based" ingest (=not direct connected devices): sensor devices buffer measurement readings send them on regular intervals to e.g. an SFTP/FTPS server. These measurements/files on the SFTP/FTPS server are on regular base picked up and should be ingested into the SAP IoT platform.

The first use case is perfectly clear to me, however for the second use case what's the recommended way to go?

Thanks.

I am having issues with connecting IoT Service Cockpit to SAP IoT (Leonardo).

Sending Data to IoT Service Cockpit (HTTP) is working fine.

Mapping Sensor Data to Thing is kind of working. I was able to choose the Sensor from IoT Cockpit but it doesn't show any values in the respective fields. To be able to select the Sensor I have followed the instructions in the comments of this Q&A.

As you can see from the screenshot above Mapping is succesful

Below you can see the 3rd column where values should be shown it is emtpy.

I am currently in the process of setting up a proof of concept / demo using SAP Predictive Asset Insights.

To do this I have followed the steps in this Blog.

The problem I ran into is that after publishing the created equipment nothing is being created in Leonardo IoT. So there is no Thing, Thing Type or Package that is created through Predictive Asset Insights.

My efforts to resolve this was following the Troubleshooting from here.

As far as I can tell all requirements from this are met apart from

"Default package com.sap.asset.core is accessible in SAP Leonardo IoT"

I can not see this package in Leonardo IoT but there is a package called "iotaestandardcontent".

I am not sure what the issue is that is causing this problem and I would be glad to receive any form of help.
2021-02-26T11:53:18+01:00https://community.sap.com/t5/technology-q-a/sap-btp-cf-sap-iot-vs-internet-of-things-services/qaq-p/12369663SAP BTP CF - SAP Iot vs Internet of things services2021-03-30T10:59:18+02:00e_giuntahttps://community.sap.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/545262
Hello,

I would like to know the difference between SAP IoT and Internet of Things services. Most of the online resources talk about the use of both services (the first for the business-oriented part, digital twin and events, the second for the integration layer between the devices and the platform). On SCP there is the possibility to activate different plans for SAP IoT (default and oneproduct). What's the difference between the two (one at the subscription level, the other at the instance level)? Is SAP IoT instance an alternative to the Internet of Things? Has it also an UI like Internet of Things Cockpit? If yes, how it can be accessed? Thank you in advance if you could give me an overview on SAP IoT services that is not very clear to me.

I am Neeraja, a postgraduate student completing her Masters Project about SAP solutions for Smart cities from Birmingham City university and I was keen to explore the topic further by contacting real-life professionals who work in SAP. I read various blogs, news articles, links, and even comments on blogs that had significant connections to papers, videos, and success stories. However, because of privacy settings, I was frequently unable to view these materials. For my project, i am aiming to develop a conceptual model of how SAP solutions can be used in distinct areas of smart cities. I would greatly appreciate if you could share your knowledge or materials so that I can enhance the quality of the information included in my research. I appreciate your support. I look forward to hearing from you very soon.

I am working on IOT Fiori app and can't find the IOT cockpit.

Can someone please guide me on how to setup or configure the IOT cockpit
2022-07-19T16:09:42+02:00https://community.sap.com/t5/supply-chain-management-q-a/retiring-sap-iot/qaq-p/12620965Retiring SAP IOT2022-08-02T13:56:23+02:00sgonzmothttps://community.sap.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/1228
Good morning!

I was checking the discovery center services and I saw that the IOT service will be retired on January 31st, 2023. I understand that it will not be possible to contract it (both in CPEA and Pay-As-You-Go) and that it is planned to discontinue the service in the long term. Is my information correct? Will there be any service to replace it? Is it advisable to study alternatives in other providers (azure, aws, etc.)?

Thanks for your help and best regards!
2022-08-02T13:56:23+02:00https://community.sap.com/t5/technology-q-a/streaming-sap-ecc-report-to-a-a-smart-tv-led-lcd-display/qaq-p/12731539Streaming SAP ECC Report to a a smart TV / LED/LCD display2023-11-07T07:15:18+01:00Privete_member__1074631https://community.sap.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/1074631
Hi All,
