Max limits of Capabilities/PropertySets per SensorType/ThingType in IoT Services/Leonardo IoT

Dear Experts,

I wanted to try out some "flat" modeling on IoT Services/Leonardo IoT. I was wondering if there is any limit to the number of Capabilities that a SensorType can have, and on also to the number of PropertySets/Property that a ThingType can have.

I did not find any reference in the documentation so if there is, could you please point me to it?

SAP IoT - File ingest

Hi,

We have 2 different use cases for ingesting measurements/messages into SAP IoT:

- "Direct" connected devices publishing messages via MQTT
- "File based" ingest (=not direct connected devices): sensor devices buffer measurement readings send them on regular intervals to e.g. an SFTP/FTPS server. These measurements/files on the SFTP/FTPS server are on regular base picked up and should be ingested into the SAP IoT platform.

The first use case is perfectly clear to me, however for the second use case what's the recommended way to go?

Issues connecting IoT Service Cockpit to SAP IoT

Hello,

I am having issues with connecting IoT Service Cockpit to SAP IoT (Leonardo).

Sending Data to IoT Service Cockpit (HTTP) is working fine.

Mapping Sensor Data to Thing is kind of working. I was able to choose the Sensor from IoT Cockpit but it doesn't show any values in the respective fields. To be able to select the Sensor I have followed the instructions in the comments of this Q&A.

As you can see from the screenshot above Mapping is succesful

Below you can see the 3rd column where values should be shown it is emtpy.

I have followed configuration instructions the best I could but I think I may have made a mistake?

Any help is appreciated

Connection Problem between Predictive Asset Insights and Leonardo IoT

Hello,

I am currently in the process of setting up a proof of concept / demo using SAP Predictive Asset Insights.

To do this I have followed the steps in this Blog.

The problem I ran into is that after publishing the created equipment nothing is being created in Leonardo IoT. So there is no Thing, Thing Type or Package that is created through Predictive Asset Insights.

My efforts to resolve this was following the Troubleshooting from here.

As far as I can tell all requirements from this are met apart from

"Default package com.sap.asset.core is accessible in SAP Leonardo IoT"

I can not see this package in Leonardo IoT but there is a package called "iotaestandardcontent".

I am not sure what the issue is that is causing this problem and I would be glad to receive any form of help.

SAP BTP CF - SAP Iot vs Internet of things services

Hello,

I would like to know the difference between SAP IoT and Internet of Things services. Most of the online resources talk about the use of both services (the first for the business-oriented part, digital twin and events, the second for the integration layer between the devices and the platform). On SCP there is the possibility to activate different plans for SAP IoT (default and oneproduct). What's the difference between the two (one at the subscription level, the other at the instance level)? Is SAP IoT instance an alternative to the Internet of Things? Has it also an UI like Internet of Things Cockpit? If yes, how it can be accessed? Thank you in advance if you could give me an overview on SAP IoT services that is not very clear to me.

I am having issues with connecting IoT Service Cockpit to SAP IoT (Leonardo).

Connectivity issue between SAP PAI 2012 and SAP IoT

As per SAP in latest version of SAP PAI 2012 the SAP IoT comes with it and no need to configure IoT . We added the external system as mentioned in below document

Integration of SAP Predictive Asset Insight with IoT

Hello,

I am preparing a demo on Predictive Asset Insights(PAI) using IoT. Already subscribed to IAM in BTP. Came across a PdMS Blog but its old and many configurations for external systems are for older version of PdMS.

Is there any newer guide available for PAI using IoT based on the latest versions.

A step by step guide will be very helpful in understanding the features of PAI using IoT.

Now data is exposed via ODATA and can be access using Bearer Token.

But we want to access this ODATA in Local IDE for binding .

How can I use IOT ODATA in local Environment or Business Studio ?

Good morning!

I was checking the discovery center services and I saw that the IOT service will be retired on January 31st, 2023. I understand that it will not be possible to contract it (both in CPEA and Pay-As-You-Go) and that it is planned to discontinue the service in the long term. Is my information correct? Will there be any service to replace it? Is it advisable to study alternatives in other providers (azure, aws, etc.)?
