Using Ariba APIs to extract Ariba contract data

I have a requirement to mass export contract data from Ariba for validation, and also for reporting purposes in MS apps.

Now that the ITK has been retired by SAP, is the only way to do this to use APIs/webservices? If so, does anyone have a link to good ref material or - even better - have done this?

Contract Request document could not be sent to the external system. Error Message: Response returned

We created contract from Sourcing Award. CLID document is published and publish the contract.

When we choose "Send to External System" for the Line Item Document , we get below error message in the History section.

Contract Request document could not be sent to the external system. Error Message: Response returned with status Code [401] of Type [Unauthorized] with message [Error:Invalid or unrecognized From credentials Please contact support with the Error Reference Number: ANERR-60000000000000003706009510 for more details].

But this contract did not even reach CIG in transaction Tracker.

Appreciate your inputs if anyone came across this type of error.

SAP Ariba - Approval Task with Multiple Approvers

I'm not sure if I answered the "Where do you want to post this question?" question correctly. My company uses SAP Ariba Spend Management to store our contracts and as a workflow with our internal contract reviewers. Our original implementation was set up to accommodate for our main contract reviewer General Counsel. However, what we really need is one task that sends both of our General Counsel(s) a notification and applies them both as the owner of the task, and whoever does the review of that contract "acquires" the task as their own for reporting purposes.

Does anyone have any detailed instructions, articles, or resources as to how to fix this on the customer end? I'm pretty good with databases and programming on the UI so, I'd like to try to fix it myself before paying our implementation company to change the task.

Apply TeamMemberRules from one Template to another

We use our instance of Ariba SAP to store our contracts as well as a workflow for our internal contract reviewers. When I create a new User, I create their User page, assign them their groups, apply the new User spreadsheet to our Requestors spreadsheet, and then apply that Requestors spreadsheet to our Sales and Procurement Templates. I'm able to update the TeamMemberRulesTemplate_CCC in our Sales Template, but I get multiple errors when applying this exact same spreadsheet to the Procurement Template. These errors state the none of the people in our original implementation group are available and therefore we cannot publish the Template. Any ideas as to why this would be happening? My apologies for the vagueness, I'm not sure what other information one may need for this issue and am happy to answer any questions to the best of my ability.

Filter Measures in Reports

We use our instance of Ariba Spend Management to store and workflow our contracts.

When using the reporting feature, how does one filter the measures? For example, if I were to use the [Workspace Duration] Measure option, how do I filter our all of the workspaces that do not equal 1 for the [Workspace Duration]? Or, how do I filter our all of the workspaces that have a [Workspace Duration] Measure < 1?

My apologies for the vagueness, I'm not sure what all someone may need to answer a question like this. I will answer any questions you may have.

Filtering based on Custom Fields

Hello, we use our Ariba Spend Management to store and workflow contracts. We have a few custom fields including the person that requested the contract review, the type of document being reviewed, whether the review is needed ASAP, and many more. When I attempt to create a report of any of these things, they are not available to be used in reports. For example, if I wanted to create a report of all of the requests that a specific person made in the last year, I am not able to do this. I created a Service Request and the SAP Agent stated that this functionality is not available in Ariba and told me to do an implementation suggestion.

Are any of you able to filter based on custom fields? I am skeptical and a bit frustrated. Thanks for your help in advance.

Adding line items through Contract Amendment against PR with account assignment

Hi Team,

We works in integrated systems between SAP Ariba Contracts and S4H ERP.

We want to add line items through Contract Amendment against PR with account assignment.

We configure/follows below process,

1. PR creation in S4H ERP ( With all details including Account Assignment ,Cost Centre etc.

2.RFQ creation in S4H ERP

4. Replication of RFQ (in S4H) to sourcing request (in Ariba)

5. Addition of line item while Contract amendment in existing ariba contract, While addling line item provides PR No.PR line No, RFQ No and RFQ Line No.

6.pubhlish and send contract to S4H.

7. While amending/ adding line item in S4H Contract, system takes all data of that PR number including account assignment and cost center etc.

8.Expectation - systems should Add line item with same account assignment or different account assignment in S4H Contract (outline (value) agreement) and The PR Should be closed.

9.But system throws below errors,

a. please enter material number or account assignment category

b. Item category D can only be used with account assignment category.

Please help us to resolve above errors

I'm looking to confirm whether its feasible to configure the system to allow for a contract term document to be edited when executing an Administrative amendment in the contract workspace.

If it is possible, I'm wondering is it also feasible to restrict the fields that can be edited when executing this amendment type.

Customers (one organisation) has two accounts in DocuSign and would like to have them both integrated with SAP Ariba Contracts.

Ideal situation would be that when a signature task is started, user can choose in which DocuSign account to proceed.

After creating and publishing the RFQ using Fiori app Process purchase requisition,outbound IDOC (ARBCIG_REQOTE) is not triggered and gives a warning message "No active outbound service for appl object xxxxxxxxxx"

Contracts data download from Ariba

Hi All,

We have a requirement to download all of the contracts data from Ariba to migrate to another external system. We are after following information from contracts:

Header data
Team members
Documents including savings form, d-forms
task details
contracts history

ITK used to the the only option to download all of this data from contracts as the support is now discontinued by SAP we are looking for alternate options. I checked API's and not all the above mentioned data set is possible using API's.

Can any one throw some light and provide best possible ways to download the data from Ariba contracts.

Question about Ariba contracts events

Hi team.

We are working with SAP Ariba contracts. In resume, the contract is created and it is ready to be signed; this creates a pending task to do that.
Using Ariba APIs we are able to poll those pending tasks and sign them with a third system (different to docusign and adobe).
My question is, In Ariba is there any way to trigger an event to notify the pending task created, via web service to an external endpoint?
We would like to trigger the process to sign with an event and avoid polling, because this takes more time in an user perspective.
