SAP Ariba Contracts Certification Contains lessons that say Sourcing

Hi,

I am studing the SAP Ariba Contracts implementation consultant certification. As part of the lessons that need to be studied it has two modules that refer to SAP Ariba Strategic Sourcing. I have been through the lessons and it seems that the content is generic across the strategic sourcing suite which I think includes Contracts.

Can anyone confirm that this isn't an error and I do have the correct modules showing. It is quite confusing when you see the titles especially as SAP Ariba Sourcing is a certification in itself.

Ariba CLID Integration to SAP S/4 Hana On-prem

Hello Experts,

We are working on the Ariba CLID Integration with SAP S/4 HANA on-prem. We have enabled the required parameters in ICM and able to see the Send to External System option in Ariba Contract workspace against the Line-item document. We have maintained the required master data in the External system integration and after we click on send to External system, we get a success message also in Contract Workspace.

However, we are not able to see this triggering any document in CIG or Business network, its like we clicked on Send to External system and nothing triggered on the system. Can some one please throw some light on what are we missing here? Once we click on Send to External system, where should we check the Contract is sent to S/4 Or not or how to trouble shoot?

NOTE: I went through the standard links in help.sap.com, but there were not helpful, any help on this would be very much appreciated.

Spend Control Tower: does it bring through other Ariba data from upstream? e.g. sourcing/contract?

Interested in finding out more about Spend Tower. As far as I understand it will eventually replace Ariba Spend Analysis - and the pre-configured dashboards look ok if a bit limited. I really want to know if contract spend is something that will be included.

Value of Available field in Spend tab of Combined Spend Contract Workspace

Hello all: I'm looking to understand the use case for the Available field in the Spend tab of a Combined Spend Contract Workspace (CW). I get that this is the amount that you expect to have for ad hoc spend in addition to any line items created in the contract spend document. But according to the documentation and my testing, that number does not reduce with any ad hoc orders or invoices placed against the CW in Guided Buying (for example), and as a matter of fact you can exceed that Available amount in orders. If it does not decrement and allows the user to exceed the amount, then is the only purpose of this field is to be reported upon? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Zero Total Value on PR for Limit Orders in SAP Ariba Guided Buying !

Hello SAP Community, 🙌

We are experiencing an issue in our SAP Ariba Guided Buying system, specifically when raising Limit Orders. Despite filling in the minimum amount, maximum amount, and start and end dates, the total value on the PR (Purchase Requisition) is appearing as zero.

Background of the Issue: 👈

1.System Customisation: Our SAP Ariba solution is highly customised to align with our organisation's requirements.

2.Recent Changes: Guided Sourcing was recently implemented and went live successfully.

3. Specific Impact: The issue seems isolated to Limit Orders only. Other functionalities are working as expected.

Actions Taken: 👈

1. We raised a P2 ticket in Ariba Connect with our internal tech team.

2. The issue was escalated to SAP's Brazil team. However, after 10 days, we are yet to receive a concrete solution.

3. The SAP Ariba team has asked multiple questions regarding system behavior, but we haven’t seen progress towards a resolution.

Request for Assistance: 👈

We would like insights from the SAP Community on:

1. Troubleshooting Guidance: Have you encountered similar issues with Limit Orders? If yes, how was it resolved?

2. Turnaround Workarounds: Are there any temporary fixes or alternative processes we could use to bypass this issue while waiting for a resolution from SAP?

3. Configuration Tips: Could this be related to a missing or incorrect configuration in New guided sourcing, Guided Buying or the integration between Ariba and SAP ECC/R3?

We would appreciate any advice or suggestions from the community to address this issue.

Ariba Contracts Integration with Fieldglass via Open APIs - restriction

Hi Everyone,

I am getting an error while integrating Ariba contracts and FG, and FG team is suspecting this could be happening because of Ariba multi-realm setup. Does anyone know if there is any restriction or limitation, we cannot have Integration between Ariba Contracts and Fieldglass via open APIs, if Ariba is setup as multi-realm (parent/child setup)?

Issue with Ariba Contract Retrieval API for date filter

We are facing an API issue using below url. We are getting one CW in results which has lesser LastModified than date filter. has anyone faced this? Looks like the date format in api results and filter is different.

Integration of Suppliers from SAP ERP (On-premise) to SAP Ariba contracts management

Hi All,

We are on an SAP private cloud landscape and we are in the process of implementing SAP Ariba contract management solution. There are a couple of master data objects that we are trying to import to Ariba contracts from our ERP, the initial load works as expected using the data import/export options in the Ariba portal. Are there any built-in solutions for delta loads that can be scheduled(addition of a new supplier in ERP automatically syncs with Ariba). We have explored the "ARBCIG_MASTER_DATA_EXPORT' report and this report does not let us select supplier as an option for SAP Ariba sourcing & contracts but it works for SAP Ariba procurement solutions.

Any inputs on this integration setup is highly appreciated.

Terms file created under document when doing Import from excel for Contract Term in CW

I imported details to Contract Term through Import from excel option. After the excel is imported, a Terms file is created in Documents tab. It is mentioned that export to excel generates Terms file. Is it expected to have the Terms File generated after file is imported using Excel ?

Contract request fails to send to SAP S/4HANA via CIG with Error 500

We have created a contract workspace in Ariba CLM, and the CLID document has been published. We are now attempting to integrate the contract request into SAP S/4HANA using the standard add-on integration via CIG. All required configurations have been completed, including the setup of endpoints from the SAP Business Network. However, the error occurs immediately upon sending and does not even reach CIG or the Ariba Business Network.

When we click "Send to External System", we receive the following error:

"Contract Request document could not be sent to the external system. Error Message: Status code: 500, status text: Internal Server Error, status message: Integration Error."

This is the only entry recorded in the document's History tab.

From the Contract Workspace Overview, under External System Configuration, we have the following values:

Company Code: XXXX
Purchasing Organization: XXXX
Purchasing Group: XXXX
Document Type: Contract
Document Category: WK Value Contract

Could someone please confirm if the Document Type and Document Category values are correct? We're unsure if these are contributing to the error. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Step 8 Summary, "Comments" in Contract terms document, to whom is it visible?

Fetching Document id's for a Contract Workspace through Api

I need to fetch the Document id's belonging to a Contract Workspace through Ariba API, i have tried with Contract Workspace Retrieval API but it only supports the /contractWorkspaces/:contractId and /contractWorkspaces. I was not able to find any API call to get the Document Id's. Could anyone help regarding this.

Ariba CLID Automatic and Thirdparty Signature Tool with Ariba

Hi Experts,

I have two questions to check if anyone has worked and share your experience.

1. Is there any feasibility to send the CLID document automatically when the contract workspace gets into Published status? This is for Ariba Contract Management to S/4 Private Cloud ERP. I see there is an Improvement request already, request you all if you can vote Improvement Request Details - Customer Influence on this.

2. Apart from DocuSign and Adobe Sign, has anyone worked on Integration Ariba Contract Management with External Third party signature tools? Are there any APIs available for this or should we only upload the signed documents as paper signature in Ariba? One of my Clients wants to go with SIGNIT a third-party signature tool, how can we integrate this with Ariba Contract Management?

Ariba - Allow Observer User to view the Contract Workspace and Sourcing Project History

Hello!

We have been unsuccessful in finding a solution for the business need of users to have access to view the Contract Workspace or Sourcing Project History, other than adding them as a Project Owner which requires a license.

The users who need this access do not perform any other functions in SAP Ariba that require a license, so paying for that just to view the change history is a challenge. Today, in SAP ECC this detail is available to all users.

In Supplier Lifecycle and Performance, there is a user group "SM Advanced View Access" which allows the user to access the Advanced View in SM which includes visibility into change history. This is an unlicensed user group.

I have not found the equivalent for Contracts & Sourcing. Is there one available that I am missing, or has anyone found alternative solutions to this issue?

I found about four previous customer influence requests over many years asking for this, but it looks like all of them were closed due to low votes. I created a new customer influence request, assuming there isn't a current solution:

Ariba CLID for Services - Best practice for sending Service Numbers from Ariba to S/4 HANA

Hello Experts,

Can anyone please confirm if we have a provision to send the Service Numbers (Activity Number - AC03 Service Master) from SAP to Ariba? We have a requirement, when we create the Contract in Ariba Contract management through CLID Service Hierarchy, there is no place holder for the Service Number, is there a way apart from entering the service numbers manually and mapping in CIG and doing a code change, by standard, can we send the Activity Numbers from SAP to Ariba Sourcing Suite?

What is the best practice to send the Activity number from SAP Ariba to S/4 HANA on the Service Specification line? The Activity number is basically created in S/4 HANA, how do we synch this from SAP S/4 HANA to SAP Ariba? Is this only possible through, Purchase Requisition for services which captures the service number-->RFQ-->SourcingRequest-->SourcingProject-->AribaCLID-->Contract in S/4 HANA? If we create CLID directly in Ariba without Sourcing from S/4 HANA, can we not send the Service number at all without customization?

Any guidance or how you were able to achieve this for contracts originating directly in Ariba would be very helpful? we established the interface and tested this functionality, in SAP S/4 HANA Private cloud, the service lines are created with the hierarchy, but in the Services Segment (Specification), the service number is blank and we can't even edit it.

How to Migrate Existing Ariba Contracts and Sourcing Projects to a new Supplier ID

Hello Experts,

We have a situation where we have multiple Supplier IDs present for the same Supplier. We would like to keep the system clean with only one supplier being active and other supplier IDs should be deactivated. This is only related to Sourcing and Contracts and we have SLP as well. Our Supplier Onboarding happens through SLP only.

Is there a way to move or update existing Ariba Contracts and Sourcing events (All statuses) to a new Supplier ID? Is this allowed, has anyone done this? If so, can someone please throw some light on this?

Any suggestion or guidance on this is much appreciated!

Hello everyone,

My name is Doğukan, and I work with CreateAnApi.com (Web Services Pros). We increasingly receive requests from clients in the promotional products and B2B services industry to integrate with SAP Ariba. Because of this, I am looking to set up an SAP Ariba sandbox environment to evaluate integration possibilities, test cXML flows, and better understand the technical requirements for Ariba connectivity.

Since we are not currently an Ariba subscriber, I would appreciate guidance on the following:

Does SAP provide any official Ariba sandbox, trial tenant, or partner-access environment specifically suited for integration testing?
If such access requires becoming an SAP partner, what is the correct pathway and prerequisites?
If no direct sandbox is available, what is the recommended method for testing Ariba integrations (for example: certification programs, Ariba Network supplier accounts, preconfigured demo tenants)?
Are there limitations in non-production environments regarding cXML transactions, purchase orders, invoices, or catalog integrations that we should anticipate?

Any direction or best practices would be extremely helpful. Thank you in advance.
