Hello Peers,

I am implementing Server sent events using Node.js as a CAP Application. But there are a few things that I can't seem to figure out. Can someone please help?

1) everything in cap is in terms of Services. and services have functions and actions i.e. (Get and Post) requests respectively. So I try to have a function for my Server in a Server side event. But all functions in CAP return something. Whereas a pure vanilla nodejs application would only require listening constantly to a port and exposing the write function of the response object that we get from express. This can be seen in the below example code. So my question is that what would my server return if I have to implement it as a CAP service function?. How can I implement a Server sent event.

2) CAP Also offers messaging using event emitters and event recievers. Do they also work on the principle of SSE? Are they the state of the art practice for message sharing between different CAP Applications?

Kyma - Functions - Multiple files

Hey Folks,

I am thinking about the usage of Kyma-Functions on a kyma environment. I do have a really simple requirement to handle an event, sent to Event Mesh, and I want to read additional data from S/4 and send it to a 3rd party system.

No rocket science at all. Checking this example repo, it seems logically and easy. But I want to keep it readable and structured, also I want to use the SAP Cloud SDK with a generated VDM.

All of that requires me to have multiple files within a FaaS.

Back in the good old deprecated "Serverless-Service", I was able to upload multiple files. Within Kyma-Functions it seems to be not possible as I do receive all the time response "User function not loaded" from the deployed function, if I do require any other file.

Anyone out there, who is already using Kyma-Functions with more than just the "handler.js" file?

Any idea is appreciated 🙂

Getting 500: internal server error from SAP CF environment

Hello Everyone,

We have one of the MTA based application which started throwing 500:Internal Server error from last week.

There were no change has been made on application ,odata service or SAP cloud connector.

This error is captured only on the network call.

SAP has suggested to use a retry mechanism, which we tried and we get 500 error we callback the function but it sometimes work but sometimes not.

Please suggest your input for this issue.

How to bind hmlt5 application and service xsuaa in scope Kyma

I'm not going to dwell on archive content.
the scenario is as follows:
There is an xsuaa service created via KYMA and there is a sapui5 application and its deployment should be done via the command line.

When deploying via the command line it does not find the xsuaa service because they are in different scopes

How could the xsuaa service existing in kyma be referenced in mta.yaml so that it finds it?

I have an entity annotated with temporal aspect. That added a VALID_FROM and VALID_TO columns in it.

To read the record active on a particular date, I use the sap-valid-at=date'yyyy-mm-dd' in query params.

How can I update a record specifying a date like this ?

I have made VALID_FROM as part of entity key , but only ID field be the key in service level.

Hi Experts,

I have build a cds service based on the examples provided by SAP in Techbytes and opencloud 2020 tutorials. The only difference between the examples and my solution is that I am using a managed approuter. I have bootstrapped the express as per the tutorial and its working as per expected. Any odata and rest api calls are directing properly with xsuaa authentication done.

As part of the custom validation api, I want to use the checkScopes functionality using req.authInfo.checkScopes. I have also tried req.user.is() as well. Any req.user or authInfo are blank. i found a few community answers that suggested req._.user but these are blank as well.

Hello,

I have recently finished the learning journey " Delivering Side-by-Side Extensibility based on SAP BTP, Kyma runtime". Now I want to pass from theory to practise. With my BTP Trial account, I have a kyma enviroment where I have created my first 2 functions, one the hello world that is proposed by the template and othe one to receive an event and print the data in teh console. But both are in PENDING status. My idea would be to create a subscription to receive an event from other system (SAP Commerce e.g) for the second example and create an API Rule to expose my first example. But I am locked.

How could I pass it to READY?

Blank page when accessing Fiori applications on BTP

Hello.
We are having a problem accessing Fiori's apps that were 'exposed' in a BTP workzone.

It happens when accessing any application. It doesn't show any error messages, just the screen is blank.

All "identity provider" and "content federation" settings have already been reviewed.

Does anyone have any suggestions?
