Cannot convert file to Base64 in SAP Build Apps – CSP error with blob URL

After uploading a file using "Pick files" in Build Apps,
we try to encode the file to Base64 using "Convert file to base64" and pass it to the next process.

However, when executed, the following error appears in the browser’s developer console, and the process fails.

Unable to use Function Import in SAP Build Actions

We are using SAP Joule skill with SAP S/4HANA public cloud edition with Action Projects for Sales Quotation Approval. When we are trying to invoke the Function Import with parameter and it's value for the API getting error as invalid Function import Parameter.

Android AAB build fails at 92%

What I've tried:

Created fresh keystore with KeyStore Explorer (JKS, RSA 2048, SHA-256 with RSA).
Uploaded .jks file, correct passwords, alias.
Cleared browser cache, incognito mode, different browsers.
Started blank projects – same error.
Image assets and configuration seem fine.

Is this a known server-side bug? Any workaround for community edition users?

Issues Migrating from DEV to QAS Using CTMS with SAP Build Apps and SAP Build Process Automation

When using SAP Build Apps and SAP Build Process Automation,
I encountered issues migrating from the DEV environment to the QAS environment via CTMS.
It seems the problem is related to the scheme version, as the release process fails.

As a workaround, I tried changing the scheme version before releasing, but I couldn’t find a successful method.
In SAP Build Process Automation, I even had to remove all dependencies to import the package, which is not ideal.

Is there any effective way to handle this migration without removing all dependencies or facing scheme version conflicts?
Any best practices or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

systemVars.dimensions.viewport.height malfunction

In deployment runtime version 4.18.23 of SAP Build Apps free/Appgyver, systemVars.dimensions.viewport.height isn't working causing keyboard to cover the input field along with half the app screen upon trying to write, as shown in the first 2 screenshots!

The last screenshot shows the proper systemVars.dimensions.viewport.height function using older runtime version 4.15.15!

SAP Build apps (low-code) source code management

Hi there,

we developed our first SAP Build apps (low-code). I wonder if it is possible to export the projects into a git repository. I know the projects can be downloaded manually, but this has many drawbacks imo. Instead, I would prefer to store the project in a git repo for example.

Why? I'm biased with SAP Build Apps (low-code). It often did not work correctly and we had to unsubscripe and subscribe to it back again. Often it works but at some point we discover lots of different issues, like non-availability of fundamental services. By deleting the subscription and subscribe agian, it is fixed until next time.

Once you unsubscribe, all projects will be lost. This will not be accepted by our users, which spends lots of time to build the apps by themself.

Is there any option to store the projects in a git? Downloading them manually is not an option at all imo. This can be a time-consuming and error-prone task.

SAP Build, HTML5 repository app permission

Hi all,

once I deployed an app to BTP environment, I can see the result in HTML5 repository. Let's say I have hundrets of users on BTP and dozends of HTML5 apps deployed. How can I grant access to dedicated apps?

If I grant access to role collection containing role Application_Frontend_Viewer, users can access all apps, if they know the links. In most cases, they need to authenticate to backend services. But if the destination has been defined with basic auth and fixed users, I have serious security concerns.

What is the right way securing individual apps?

EDIT: I did some further checks. I can use SAP Build Workzone and it's corresponding role concept to grant access to an individual tile. But this does not affect permission to the app itself. As long as the user "knows" the right link, he can always access the app. How to prevent this?

But this sample works with a data variable.

As SAP changed the UI I only find "old" examples.

SAP Build low-code, transport 3-tier landscape, governance

Hi all,

our citizen.developers build their first SAP Build Apps (low-code) for UI. It has been build and deployed to BTP environment. Now I'm looking on how to deploy this app to test- and productive subaccount. Ok I can export the project and reimport it into another subaccount but I'm pretty sure it should be handled either by some kind of transport mechanism (CTMS) or CI/CD pipeline. I'm also looking for some governance guidelines.

I found some information about how to do this for SAP Build process automation as well as for SAP Build Apps, pro.code. But I'm looking for Build apps low-code (AppGyver). The resources I found does not fit in our case, as the relevant options are not available to us. For example, in case of SAP Build process automation, such stuff can be configured in "Control Tower" of SAP Build. But in our case, it is pretty empty.

SAP Build Process Automation trigger from SAP Build Apps

I am trying out SAP Build App triggering a Process automation workflow in the Practice system provided by SAP via My Learning

The workflow has its own Form trigger.
The workflow is released, deployed and published to the build app library.
The workflow is tested.
I have added and enabled the workflow in the Integration tab of the Web and Mobile project.

However, when I add the Trigger Workflow flow function, I am not getting the process to select from and instead getting this:

"You have not integrated any processes that can be triggered via API to your project. Please go to the "Integrations" tab to start integrating with SAP Build Process Automation."

Am I missing any steps?

Hello,
I have an issue that I am facing with a button functionality implemented using the Flow
Function ‘HTTP destination request’ in SAP Build Apps.

Context
I am developing an application in SAP Build Apps that needs to upload attachments to
S/4HANA using the standard OData service API_CV_ATTACHMENT_SRV.
The upload is triggered by a button press in the UI, and the attachment is selected by the
end user.
I am following an SAP blog that explains how to upload attachments from SAP Build Apps
using the HTTP Destination Request component. In the blog, the implementation is done
using DMS (Document Management Service) and the approach works correctly, including
the CSRF handling and multipart/form-data POST request. In my case, I cannot use DMS
and I need to upload attachments using GOS (Generic Object Services) via the standard
OData service API_CV_ATTACHMENT_SRV. I am trying to adapt the same approach shown
in the blog to GOS, but this is where I am currently blocked with the 403 Forbidden error.

I used the same destination configuration as described in the blog.

The only difference in the destination details is the Proxy Type, which is set to ‘Internet’ and in my case is OnPremise.

In the Request body i send key: media with value: <picture jpg>

Headers with the relative value:

If I press F12 and look at the network tab I can see the Response, the error 403 Forbidden.

But then If I tried with Postman it works.

And on the S/4HANA usign the transaction /IWFND/TRACES I can see an error exactly on
the moment when a HEAD request is executed

How can we replicate WBS elements from S/4HANA to Fieldglass?
Is there any communication scenario available for this purpose other than SAP_COM_0111?

Additionally, we would like to replicate the Planned Start Date and Planned Finish Date.

However, SAP_COM_0111 does not support these fields.

As per SAP documentation, SAP Build is a bundle that includes the following services:

SAP Build Apps
SAP Build Process Automation
SAP Build Work Zone

I would like to clarify the licensing and subscription aspect.

If we subscribe only to SAP Build, is that sufficient to create and deploy mobile applications using SAP Build Apps?

Or do we need to purchase/subscribe to SAP Build Apps separately, even though it is part of the SAP Build bundle?

It would be helpful if someone could explain:

Whether SAP Build Apps is automatically included with SAP Build

Or if it requires an individual subscription/entitlement

Any limitations (users, runtime, mobile deployment) with SAP Build Apps under SAP Build

BPA Unable to verify the signature of the archive (Transport Joule Skills)

Hi guys, could anyone help me out?

In SAP Build Process Automation (BPA), I’m trying to migrate/transport a Joule Skill project from Subaccount A (US, Azure) to Target Subaccount B (another region, US VA, AWS).

The import fails with this error:

Unable to verify the signature of the archive. Make sure the landscape keys from landscape us21-prod are imported in your landscape, if not, contact DevOps. Ensure that the other potential reasons for this error are checked. This error could happen for the following reasons: Couldn't get key xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx version from credential store.

The same error - Transport and Upload proyect.

I’ve searched everywhere and couldn’t find anything useful.

I did find an SAP Note that suggests using a tenant in the same region, which is honestly very limiting because it would force us to change our entire landscape design just because of BPA:

Has anyone found a way to solve this (e.g., importing landscape keys / fixing credential store key access) and successfully transport BPA/Joule projects across regions?

Clarification on SAP Build Apps Subscription Visibility under build-default Plan

Dear SAP Support Team,

We need your clarification regarding SAP Build Apps subscription visibility in our SAP BTP subaccount.

Currently, our subaccount has the following subscriptions active under the build-default plan:

SAP Build Process Automation – build-default

SAP Business Application Studio – build-default

SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition – build-default

As per SAP documentation and licensing understanding, SAP Build Apps is included within the build-default plan and does not appear as a standalone subscription.

However, when we attempt to create a project using Create Project → Web Application (low-code) in SAP Build Apps, the system displays the status as “Not Subscribed”, which creates confusion from an entitlement perspective.

Could you please confirm:

Whether SAP Build Apps entitlement is correctly provided through the build-default plan in our subaccount, and
Why the project creation wizard displays “Not Subscribed” despite the build-default plan being active.

Your confirmation will help us proceed and also communicate the correct information to our stakeholders.
