How to debug the incident-management app [Tutorial]

I have been following the tutorial incident-management and came across the deployment process as described here https://developers.sap.com/tutorials/deploy-to-cf.html

At the end it is mentioned, that one will not be authenticated when opening the app from the CAP start page due to missing JSON Web Token. In order to start and use the app, one needs the Work Zone. I implemented the work zone and finished the tutorial. Everything works as it should when opening the app from the work zone.

Now I want to debug this app. However, when debugging I cannot open the app from the CAP start page due to the aforementioned missing JSON Web Token [there is the expected 403 error]. How would one go about debugging this app?

Hi Everyone,

I'm testing my application in web browser and it is working fine, able to post the data in database.

But same application if I test in SAP Build Preview App then in that case I'm getting oAuth 2 authorization issue.

I'm calling google firestore database API.

Also after login in web browser I can see all the content getting loaded successfully. But after logging in Mobile Device I'm getting logged in but not data getting displayed.

This app works in web browser but not in SAP Build Preview App.

Information is given in this page about signing in with oAuth 2 in firebase doc.

But does anyone have idea how to get [Google_Id_Token] then please drop your answer.

Hi Pooja,

Incase you are using the Free Trial account, the Sap build apps service is only available in region AWS US East (VA).

Could you please clarify the purpose of these files and the potential consequences of editing or removing them?

Hi experts,

Can we select Java when adding application logic within SAP Build Code? The product page states :

Generative AI-based code development with Joule copilot, optimized for Java and JavaScript application development.

However, I couldn't find an option for selecting languages when creating a project or adding application logic.

Type generator is not installed in your CDS Project

Hello All,

Using Joule, in SAP Build - Business Application Studio, when I try to generate an Entity and service using AI Joule, I am getting the error message: "TyperNotInstalledError: Will not attempt to generate types as the Type generator is not installed in your CDS Project. Install @cap-js/code-typer as dependency of your project to enable type generation for this project."

Is Joule not going to install the necessary files by itself?

What are the steps to be taken to overcome this issue?

When I Open in Graphical Modeler, I got a blank screen, do you know why :

Getting "Joule not available" in SAP Build Code

I have created a Dev space for Full-Stack Application Using Productivity Tools (screenshot below).

When I click on the Joule icon, I get this message:

Joule Not Available

Joule is only available for projects created in a Full-Stack Application Using Productivity Tools dev space.
Open a Full-Stack Application Using Productivity Tools project.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a workaround for this?

Sap Build Andriod app displays black screen after logging in

Hello Sap Builders,

I am trying to build a sample android app using my trail account to fetch products from Northwind. I configured all the required configurations following this link. I am able to view the data while previewing the data in Lunch application. However, when I build the apk package and installed it on android mobile, I got a build login screen and when I entered username and password, the screens go on loading forever without any log messages and after sometime, the app crashes saying that is "not responding". I tried building the app several times and every time getting stuck at the same screen. Can you help me if I am missing anything here?

In brief, below activities are performed.

1. Ran booster to create build apps, custom identity provider and other required subscriptions
2. Created destination for Northwind in btp cockpit
3. Enabled the btp destination in build app and used the odata in UI canvas.
4. Preview app is successful
5. Create java keystore file in business application studio and used in build.
6. Enabled mobile services for the app and build the android app.
7. Installed the apk file and authenticated using build custom idp credentials/
8. After authentication, the screen goes black and eventually, "app not responding" with options either to wait or close the app.

I Am Facing A Problem To Open Business Application Studio (BAS) From The Cockpit. Whenever I Try To Click On The Link from Cockpit, It Always Redirect To SAP Build Code. Different Web Browsers (Chrome & Opera)Were Also Used With Incognito Mode But No Luck.

In The BAS I Am Using trial Account And There Are Already Deployed Project Exist.

Make sure you have the necessary roles assigned. Specifically, check if you have the “Build Code Administrator” and “Build Code Developer” roles.

To assign these roles:
Log in to SAP Build Code.
Navigate to the user management section.
Select “Build Code Administrator” and “Build Code Developer,” then click “Assign Role Collection.” This action will assign the roles to your user.

Hello, I'm surprised that when generating a Full-Stack application with SAP Build Code, it does not generate files like mta.yaml , xs-security.json and xs-app.json . Are all those files supposed to be created manually or via cds commands ?
