Connection BAS to TRL instance (Abap trial), Cloud Trial Cockpit environment

Hello

I´m trying to connect BAS to the TRL instance (Abap in cloud trial cockpit environment) and it´s not possible due to error message:
"Authentication incorrect. Please check the SAP BTP destination authentication configuration."

I´m following the indications in:

Previosly this method has worked for me without any trouble but, since the trial expires each 3 months, I have to repeat it now.
I can get connected correctly to Abap TRL and I can run correctly BAS from cloud trial cockpit but I can´t connect BAS to Abap TRL to read the backend services.

Any idea? , has it changed the procedure?

but in the one hand I´m not sure if it applies to the Cloud Trial Cokpit and in the other I don´t understand some points, for instance:

- "In the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system, navigate to the Communication Systems app" , where is it in the trial cockpit (or in TRL) this app?, I don´t see anything similar

- Where is this "YOUR_SYSTEMS_ID" , maybe is the one in "Communication Systems app"

Very Small Click Area for Hierarchy Extension Navigation in SAP Service & Asset Manager 2405

Hi Experts,

We are facing an issue in SAP Service & Asset Manager 2405, using the standard iOS client downloaded from the App Store.

In the Hierarchy Extension views, when we click on the expand/collapse or child-navigation icon, the touch area is extremely small. If the user does not tap exactly on that tiny icon, the app opens the details screen of the list item instead of navigating to the child hierarchy.

This creates usability issues because the correct tap zone is too small on iOS.

Is there any way to increase the clickable/touch area of the hierarchy icon in MDK?

We are using:

iOS device

Standard client (no custom client)

Hi Experts.

I am working on a simple CAP application were I need to create a Calculation View ( .hdbcalculationview artifact) and when I browse the possible available tables for a Join or a Projection the "Unauthorized" error message appears (see the attached images).

The SAP Hana Cloud is setup via Cloud Central tools and is mapped and running in Cloud Foundry.

Do you know if is due a missing role or something else (HRTT API, SAPID, packages versions, other)?

Unable to open CDS Graphical modeler in BAS (Trial) account

Hey there,
I have tried to open the CDS Graphical Modeler many times. From BAS, and then via Build Code as well.
Moreover, I also changed OS systems and networks and different trial account ID's, but the modeler is still blank.
P.S. Tried Productivity tools as well as Cloud application approach.

Hi SAP Community,

I have developed a custom SAP Fiori (UI5) application using SAP Business Application Studio (BAS) and deployed it successfully to a DEV subaccount on SAP BTP Cloud Foundry with SAP Build Work Zone / Launchpad service.

Now I want to deploy the same application to a PRODUCTION subaccount, which is a separate BTP subaccount, following SAP best practices without changing the application code.

What is the recommended and correct approach to deploy a custom Fiori app from a DEV subaccount to a PROD subaccount in SAP BTP?

When I open SAP Business Application Studio's Fiori dev space, there are errors:

Cannot activate the 'vscode-mta-tools' extension because it depends on an unknown 'sapos.yeoman-ui' extension.

Some extensions were not fully installed. You can continue to work in SAP Business Application Studio and we will retry next time you restart the dev space.

I cannot use command palette, cannot create fiori project from templates.

I tried to stop and start the dev space, reener the dev space. I am using trial account.

Can anyone help?

Business Application Studio COnnection error

In the past, we could connect from BAS to our BTP ABAP system.
Now we get this error below.

The destination works says it connects in SAP BTP Cockpit.
I even tried a Destination create by Build Studio.
In BAS CF login says connected.

How to make standard Fiori apps open an extended Fiori app instead of the standard one?

Hello experts, good morning.

I would like to ask for your guidance regarding an issue we are facing while extending a standard Fiori application.

Context:
We were asked to extend a standard app in order to adjust a specific parameter within it. To achieve this, we used a SAPUI5 Adaptation Project from SAP Business Application Studio (BAS).

The required adjustments were successfully implemented, and the app was deployed correctly to our system. After that, the necessary Catalog, Group, and Role were created so the extended app could be used.

Initially, a custom (Z) Target Mapping was created for the extended app, based on the standard app’s target mapping, and everything was working as expected.

However, we later identified the following issue:

The standard app can be launched from other standard Fiori applications. When this navigation occurs, the standard app is always opened, but our requirement is for the extended app to be opened instead, so the requested change can be used.

To address this, we tried modifying the Target Mapping, keeping the same semantic object (or at least the same name), and removing the original target mapping, so that the apps performing the navigation would open the extended app.

This approach worked partially. For some users, the navigation opens the extended app correctly. However, when testing with other users who have more roles and profiles assigned, the system still opens the standard app instead of the extended one.

Additionally, we tried using the “Add SAP Fiori Launchpad Config” option available in SAP BAS:

However, this option does not seem to work, may be deprecated, or not supported in our system, as we receive a “URL Not Found” error.

In summary, my main question is:

How can I make standard Fiori applications open the extended app instead of the standard one?

We have already tried adjusting the target mapping and exploring Launchpad configurations, but without complete success. At this point, we have run out of ideas and would really appreciate any guidance.

Do you know of any alternative approach, recommended solution, or documentation that could help in this scenario?

Dear SAP Support Team,

We need your clarification regarding SAP Build Apps subscription visibility in our SAP BTP subaccount.

Currently, our subaccount has the following subscriptions active under the build-default plan:

SAP Build Process Automation – build-default

SAP Business Application Studio – build-default

SAP Build Work Zone, standard edition – build-default

As per SAP documentation and licensing understanding, SAP Build Apps is included within the build-default plan and does not appear as a standalone subscription.

However, when we attempt to create a project using Create Project → Web Application (low-code) in SAP Build Apps, the system displays the status as “Not Subscribed”, which creates confusion from an entitlement perspective.

Could you please confirm:

Whether SAP Build Apps entitlement is correctly provided through the build-default plan in our subaccount, and
Why the project creation wizard displays “Not Subscribed” despite the build-default plan being active.

Your confirmation will help us proceed and also communicate the correct information to our stakeholders.

Extending Custom RAP App

Hello SAP RAP experts,

I am working on a custom RAP application and I have two requirements I want to implement. I would like your advice on whether they are feasible, especially considering that I only have Web IDE access and not BAS.

Requirement 1 :

Add a Send Mail button on the main page of the app.

The button should not send the email immediately. Instead, it should open a popup/dialog showing an editable email template with: Subject - Sender - Body - Attachments ..., the user can then either click Send to send the email or cancel to discard it.

Requirement 2:

Add an action button (or icon) in each line of the table (line item), when clicked, the user should see a list of attachments related to the PO for that line, and be able to open/view them.

My main question: I know that something like this might be done using a UI5 extension, but all examples I have found require BAS. Since I only have Web IDE access, I’m not sure if it’s possible to implement these enhancements.

I would really appreciate any guidance, suggestions, or best practices for this scenario.

Accessing fields in RAP app controller using OData (V4)

Hi Developers,

Sorry if this is an easy one but I have not done this before so I am a bit stuck.

I have made a RAP application using Eclipse and Business Application Studio. I am generating a Fiori List Report using OData V4 and the data is passing through fine.

I now want to customise the header using an extension point. I have also completed this with static text as seen below.

The problem is, I want to be able to display the data that is in the list but in the header instead where I can perform calculations.

For example let's say the list shows multiple entries of employees and a field is the number of days left of annual leave. In the header I want to be able to calculate and display the total number of days of annual leave remaining for all employees.

I have currently setup a controller and I'm attempting to try and get the data in section from the hook

onAfterRendering. I have explored developer tools but I cant seem to find anything.

If you know how to do this, please add as much detail as you can.

I have an issue in the step "Previewing Your Application" of the learning journey "Developing Full-Stack Applications Using Productivity Tools in SAP Business Application Studio".

In the step of run configuration using live data from an external service. Even though I have created the configuration (change the odata type to live) and used the destination to connect to the apihub_sandbox, i cannot view the business partner data on my work zone app.

Please help

Code Page Conversion Error When Downloading UI5 BSP Apps in S/4HANA (CP1252 Issue)

Hello everyone, and thank you in advance for your support.

We previously worked with the 9.4 system version and used /UI5/UI5_REPOSITORY_LOAD to download UI5 BSP applications without any issues. Now that we are working on an S/4HANA system, we are facing a new problem during the download process.

When we try to download a BSP UI5 app, the report throws the following error:

An code page conversion error occurred (path: controller/Worklist-dbg.controller.js / code page: Cp1252)
Warning: Text file ... has not been downloaded

In S/4HANA, the UI5 repository contains the minified .js files along with their .js.map source maps. During the download, the system appears to generate the corresponding *-dbg.js debug versions, and this step triggers a CP1252 code page conversion error, even though the system and SAP GUI are both Unicode. There is also no ZIP download option available in this S/4 environment.

Has anyone encountered this behavior in S/4HANA UI5 apps? Is there an SAP‑recommended workaround for downloading or modifying UI5 controllers when the system generates debug files that cannot be converted?
