Use SAP Datasphere for S/4HANA Data Migration Staging Tables (2Q2)

Hello all

as per the usual method of using the HANA Cloud DB as Staging Tables in the S/4 - is it possible to use the HANA Space from the Datasphere in the same manner?

I have tried adding the Space Admin User as per the SAP_COM_0678 Communication Arrangement, but in the S/4 I only get connection errors. Whitelisting the IP might be the issue?

Hello Experts,

I am trying to integrate CDS-View IFIGLACCTLIR in Datasphere as a remote table, but cannot find it under Extractors > ABAP_CDS, I can only find the generated table to the view in ABAP Tables. Why can I not see the CDS-View itself? Thanks in advance.

SAP Datasphere - Replication Flow - Started failing with Partitions' Error

Hello Experts,

I am getting the the below error messages while extracting the data via replication flows from S/4HANA. These extractions were working fine and suddenly, these errors have started appearing to many replication flows since last couple of days. All are "Initial" loads (Full loads). Deltas are working fine. Source for these replication flows are CDS views.

Error -

One or more partitions have encountered an error.

Error while accessing object queue / Calculation not finished but ACD doesn't exists for object ZCDS_VIEW_NAME (type DDLS)

SAC Story : Recent n Dates calculation

Hi Team,

I am working on a SAC Story(Optimized Design) based on a Datasphere live model*.

There is a measure named, Inventory Date*. My requirement is to display the latest/recent 10 dates from the Inventory date in the SAC table.

SAC Table Column would contain the latest 10 Inventory dates and Table row will have one measure value in row section of the table

Note:Extra Information

1.Inventory Date only displays the Monday's date . For example, for any of the dates among 7th ,8th,9th,10th May 2024, Inventory date would be 6th of may(i.e Monday).I have already created calculation to display only the Monday's date.

2.We are using a live model, so number of entries in Inventory date column may vary. We need the most recent 10 dates.

Please help me to achieve this calculation.

De antemano, agradezco el apoyo que puedan brindarme con esta consulta, puesto que no soy del equipo de TI de la empresa en que laboro (empresa de gobierno), soy usuario funcional, sin embargo, he explorado mucho la herramienta de Datasphere y SAC y a la fecha, soy el que más conoce de ellas 😅, pero hay mucho conocimiento técnico que aún no comprendo y tampoco pueden apoyarme los compañeros de TI, así que ahí les va mi consulta:

Y en SAP Analytics Cloud necesito mostrar una gráfica como ésta:

Como pueden observar, en este caso, la adjudicación de la compra, tanto para el item 1 como para el item 2, se ha realizado a 2 proveedores distintos, a cada uno se ha asignado una cantidad, con el precio ofertado y obtenemos el monto adjudicado para cada uno, sin embargo, el presupuesto aprobado de cada item es uno solo. Siendo honesto, no puedo replicar esta gráfica en SAC, puesto que al sumar el presupuesto, obviamente, duplica el monto para los item 1 y 2 y no me da el dato real.

Necesito de su ayuda o consejos de dónde encontrar material que me ayude a construir lo anterior.

Nuevamente, agradezco el apoyo que puedan brindarme.

SAP Datasphere - Create an outbound interface to send the data to SFTP-Server from Datasphere

Hello Experts,

1. Can we export the daily delta datasets to the Non-SAP application or file server in a flat file (CSV or XLS format) via SFTP connection directly from the datasphere view or local table?
2. Can we generate a filename based on timestamp (yyyymmdd_hhmmss)?

Currently, this is possible with BW. We have a process chain where process steps are created with the ABAP program and its variants to generate and transfer the data from a particular DSO to the CFTP server.

Below is the BW process chain screenshot which showcases the file generation and transfer steps (It is using ABAP code with a variant where the variant contains the DSO names and the loading date based on which the delta dataset is created).

Is this possible with SAP Datasphere?

Connecting to an SAP Analytics Cloud tenant to SAP Datasphere Catalog

Hello experts!

We are trying to connect our SAP Analytics Cloud Tenant with our SAP Datasphere Catalog. But we ran into an error that we can't really understand.

We are following the steps detailed here: Connecting to Data Sources | SAP Help Portal under SAP Analytics Cloud Tenant Connection to create a new System.

Once we push the "+" icon to create a new system we fill the boxes with the following information:

System Type: SAP Analytics Cloud
Name: SAP Analytics Cloud
UUID of our SAC Tenant

And as an Authenticated System User, I am assuming that the authenticated system user is the user with whom I am making the connection with, and that would be my user (the one I am logged on in Datasphere) while our shared mailbox generic user is getting configured to use.

But when we click the buttom "Authenticate Now" we run into the following error:

Failed to (getAuthorizationAddress) due to an error: {"status":404,"code":"com.sap.orca.starter.core.exception.NotFoundException","message":"No resource com.sap.orca.svc.tenantmanagement.model.TmsTenant exists with uuid [our sac UUID]"}

We looked for similar errors and we found this one here: 3338522 - Connecting SAC as Data Source for Catalog fails due Error "The UUID couldn't be verified" (sap.com). But it is not quite the same error we are encountering. So we are looking for other alternatives. (Our tenants' landscapes are in different countries but within the same continent)

Can you help us identify what could be causing that type of error?
Are we missing some configuration from SAC's side?

SAC Mobile Cannot Find Model Information Error

Hello everyone,
We have prepared a special version for mobile so that our users can view an existing report on mobile. The data source for some of these reports comes from Datasphere, while the model for another is Import Model.
Import Model reports open smoothly on mobile. However, reports running with Datasphere sometimes say "Model information cannot be found." It gets an error like this and users cannot view the report.
We thought that the problem was related to authorization, but the same problem is experienced by the user with Admin privilege. My own device is Android and it may ask for a certificate when connected to Datasphere while opening a report. I do not encounter any problems when I proceed without selecting a certificate. Other users trying to access the report have iOS devices. I think the operating system difference may also cause the problem.
I would appreciate it if you could help me with a solution to this situation.

Within the SAP Datasphere environment, we duplicate the analytics model but connect it to a different SAP S/4 environment.

Model A connect to SAP S/4 DEV
Model B connect SAP S/4 QAS

In SAC, we intend to duplicate two stories while maintaining the same settings (Measure):

Story A currently connects to Model A.

So We duplicated Story A to create Story B and We replaced Model A with Model B in Story B. However the old settings to disappear.

Could you please suggest us, we have a lot of calculatation measures so we prefer not to recreate the story B from the template?

UI asset listing different from REST API listing

Does the API only list views? In the UI I can see local tables, views, analytic models, etc. listed, but when I ask for the listing of the same space via the REST API, only the views are listed. What could explain this?

Replication flow in DataSphere not showing the extraction enabled ABAP CDS views

Hello Experts,

I was trying to get extraction enabled CDS view in DataSphere , using the replication flow. I am not able to see views like - I_PRODUCT or C_PURCHASEORDERDEX when using the replication flow in DataSphere.

I do see it when using the export entities in DataSphere.

Please let me know if I am missing anything.

I did check SAP note - 3343889 , 3297105 and 2890171.

recreate clustered indexes on huge table

Dears,

we have a huge table with a clustered index and 6 non-clustered indexes, when we create this index in the past there is one of our processes -which executes on this table- took as an example about 10 minutes to complete, after a week later , the same process took about 30 minutes, even though we run update statistics on that table at midnight everyday,

kindly note that table is the most active table in the database with a lot of insert commands and also a lot off select ones (the delete operation is prevented)

Now we are thinking to drop the clustered index and recreate it,

so my inquiries are:
If we drop it, what the affect to the non clustered indexes on the table?
as the data in the table is already sorted, what about specify sorted data while creating the index in order to speed up the time of creating it?
the current fill factor value for all indexes in that table is 0, how to calculate the best value to change to it, and what are the benefits on both insert and select commands on the table

kindly note that clustered index is composed of 3 columns

Below is my current SAP Datasphere functionality wish list:

1) Expose Delta Tables via a View in OpenSQL Space.

-> This allows external tools to access delta changes in local SAP Datasphere tables.

2) When importing SAP CDS Views, control the source of the business name meta-data. Choose between base table or @EndUserTxt annotations in the CDS view.

-> Maintaining consistent metadata between S4/HANA CDS views and Entities in SAP Datasphere is important for clients that report directly out of both systems.

3) Allow Alter Table statements in SQL console for local tables. This could also mean mass CSN/Json changes for tables.

-> I often need to make mass changes to local tables or remote tables. For example, flip them to "In-Memory" or set them to Dimensions.

4) Utility to convert Create Table SQL into CSN/Json

-> Useful when I can't import the table from a source, but I have the DDL from the source.

5) Use the same column editor found when creating SQL based Views in graphical based views. This one is the main reason I mostly do everything in SQL. The editor in the SQL views allows you to make changes to columns in a spreadsheet like format. I should have the same option with graphical views.

6) When replication flows import delta enabled CDS views, they manipulate the data types. For example, the CDS View has a column of abap.dec(26,6) but requires the target table to be dec(27,6) adding one to the precision for every decimal column. We either need some control over this type conversion or a better understanding of what, how and why it converts abap types into HANA types.

7) Full object version history with restore. I should be able to view and compare the version of every object and revert to any historical version. We had this in HANA.

😎 Better data profiling tools for tables and views. I liked the one in HANA Studio. I have to go into the DB Explorer now to do the same. Which means I need a view over every table.

9) View Persistence based on delta tables. I can do this with a replication task now, but it would be nice if view persistence automatically used the delta table when one exists for the main table in a view.

MCHB Standard table import zero values in stock columns

I've tried importing the MCHB standard table in DWC from S4 for two client systems. However, both systems bring zero values in stock columns such as CLABS, CINSM, etc.

Is there any particular reason that it is showing zero values
