Talend stewardship vs BW ETL or similar

Hello Experts,

we are currently using Talend as ETL tool which gets the data from different non SAP sources and perfrom ETL to BW. The biggest challange to get rid of Talend is, its Stewardship functionality. Do we have any solution regarding stewardship in SAP which can replace the Talend ?

How to edit server name in Information Steward connections using command utility in windows

Dear SAP,

As part of our internal project to move off Win2012 servers and onto Win2019 servers for our SAP ERP system we had to make a change to the Information Steward connection setup which was pointing to our old Win2012 ERP application servers. However, despite choosing the option "Load Balancing" = "Yes" the connection fails because the application server entry now had a SAP ERP application server that doesn't exist.

Is there a way of updating this connection as creating a new connection and repointing is not really an option?

We have two BODS systems, one that is live and runs on Win2012 with BODS version 4.2 and one that will be migrated to that runs on Win2019 with BODS version 4.3. Both seem to have the same issue as in both BODS 4.2 & BODS 4.3 won't allow me to change the "Server Name" and fail despite the "load balance" elements being correct.

Issues with Importing the rules to Information Steward project

Hi All,

When importing the approved rules from one project to another, Rules are in Editing / submitted status. but not approved.

Below are the steps performed,

Before exporting the rules, all the rules are approved and Public.

Export the project to make Zip files from project A

import the content to Project B.

Check the overwrite rules box and Approve the Rules(user performing the import and export has Data insight admin access) by Data insight Admin

After importing , the rules in new project are either in Editing / submitted state. in other project, they are in Locked.

Please could anyone help me the reason for this this behavior.

We have created the data quality rule and dash boards in SAP DI Dev. we need to move the rules to QA for testing. I want to to how to export and import the rules in QA. Please let me know the process how to do export and import the rules.

My ultimate goal is to extract the sql statements for all of my Information Steward rules. I can extract expressions and filters, but I want the actual sql statement. Does anyone know how I can do that?

Dear Experts,

Need your suggestion on Information steward 4.3 upgrade on below scenario.

We have Data Services 4.2 SP14 and Information steward 4.2 SP14 in our landscape, both are in two different VM machines and also connected with backend Netwevarer systems (version NW 7.0, 7.3 & 7.4).

Here we have a challenge is, support of 4.2 is going to be end on December 2023 so we are planning to upgrade our DS & IS systems to 4.3 SP02.

But as per DS 4.3 PAM the backend systems NetWeaver with version lower than 7.5 is not compatible/supported but as per Information Steward 4.3 PAM backend systems with lower versions are supprted/compatible (7.0, 7.3 & 7.4).

Could you please suggest on below points.

- Are okay to upgrade Information Steward 4.3 alone as IS 4.3 is supported with backend lower NW versions (7.0, 7.3 & 7.4) and also in different VM machine?

- Could you please suggest us is it okay to upgrade IS 4.3 alone without upgrading DS ?

- Will there be any impact on DS if we don't upgrade and keept it with existing/older version DS 4.2?

SAP Info Steward - Conformity Rule to identify special character

Hi,

I am new to SAP Info Steward and I am trying to create more complex rules. The advance editor is not something that I am used to, and I am having trouble to create simple rules that I could have created in seconds somewhere else. It would would be great if anyone have any suggestions on where I could learn more.

At the meantime if anyone could suggest how I can create a rule to identify a string with special characters OR a period at the end of the string?

I am trying to filter out -

1. Deactivated vendors

2. Account group =6

and include train station 1,7, and 8

for the data set to be tested. However, I am getting an error message "mismatched expression <begin>, expecting <end of expression>. (COR-10608)".

We are retrieving data from the SAP table LFA1 in S4 HANA and transferring it to an SQL database. The data in the LFA1 table is in Chinese, specifically in the Taiwan language.

I have a table with the following entries:

VendorNumber VendorCountry VendorName AccountNumber
Ven1 VC1 VN1 ACCT1
Ven1 VC2 VN2

I have a requirement: if Vendor is in multiple countries, it is considered valid for all entries if it has a bank account number in at least 1 country for all entries, otherwise, blank or null entries for all countries for the same vendor are invalid.

for the scenario above Ven1 should be valid for both entries.

A basic if statement IF (AccountNumber is not NLL or AccountNumber !='') considers the first entry as valid, while the 2nd one is no

Adding (using the lookup)

How would the 'IS NOT NULL' be treated: an actual string or a value? same for the !=\'\'.

If this does not work, any suggestions? I tried nested IFs, but was not able to get the desired output in the rule test.

We are trying to install SAP Information Steward in SAP Data Services (BODS) server. To install Information Steward we need to check the compatibility with SAP Data Services. Below is our SAP Data Services version:

How to read the version: 14.2.12.2309

14.2 is SAP Data Services 4.2.
The second 12 means SP 12.
2309 is the detailed patch number.

Could you please check and let us know if this version is compatible with Information Steward 4.2 SPS14 version

SAP BODS/IS upgrade from 4.2 SP14 to 4.3 SP03

Hi All,

We plan to upgrade the current BODS/IS+ BIP landscape from 4.2 SPXX to DS/IS 4.3 SP03 Patch 1 + BIP 4.3 SP4 Patch 8 on Linux OS.

After referring to many SAP documents and guides, we are planning to do an in-place Upgrade to 4.3 without uninstalling the older versions of any of the products(which we are not sure how it works). Has anyone worked on a similar set of approach? or any suggestions?.

SAP Information Steward Task Failing - "Invalid column name 'IS_GEN_SOURCE_ROWID' " Error

Hi,

We are facing an issue with a task in SAP Information Steward.

Error :

error message for operation <SQLExecute>: <[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL
Server]Invalid column name 'IS_GEN_SOURCE_ROWID'.
[Microsoft][ODBC Driver 17 for SQL Server][SQL Server]Could not use view or function 'CMD007C_D_P4821T5004_FD' because of
binding errors.

Observation:

The column 'IS_GEN_SOURCE_ROWID' is missing in prod which matches the error
Interestingly, the same column is also missing in INTEG, but the task runs fine there without errors.
