Database Administrator/Password configuration missing in Configuration/Systems/Instance Details

Hi,

SAP Landscape Management SP26_1 I am missing the possibility to change the username/password for Oracle databases. Other databases like Sybase ASE, MaxDB work fine and do have their settings as expected. Is it something I am missing in settings or maybe fixed with one of the patches up to SP26_4 ?

Hi,

When we refreshing database on destination system, is possible to specify a specific point-in-time. For example, we want refresh destination system with the backup of may 8th 2023 and apply the logs until "2023-05-08 11:00AM".

If yes, how we can integrate this option in provisioning processes ?

wanted to etablish an SAP Trial with an Azure basic Account. Error:

Asked Azure for scale upo limitations in quota, but VMs D4, E32 and E4 are not available. Any ideas?

Hey experts,

the following warning for is periodically flooding our LaMa Enterprise 3.0 Java security log:

The client proxy is making a SSL connection to https://<host.domain>:1129 without validating the SSL server certificate. Please change the configuration to validate the SSL server certificate.

In the attachment you can see one of the messages in detail.

2723977 is the only related SAP note I could find, but it just describes how to change the severity of this message from warning to error, which...will not help 😉

Of course I tried to check the Consumer Proxies configuration in Single Service Administration regarding the Ignore server certifcates (insecure) option, hence this seems to be the cause for this warning according to SAP note 2723977. But I have no idea which entry is relevant here. The one thing they all have in common: Ignore server certifcates (insecure) is activated by default.

Do you have any idea, if this can be fixed by changing a specific entries config to Accept Certificates in Keystore View: WebServiceSecurity, which entry needs to be configured and what the side-effects of this configuration for LaMa could be?

Maybe some of you have already had a similiar issue...

Error 500: Cannot process an HTTP request to servlet [lama_api] in [lama-api] web application

Dear Community,

(probably) since applying SP29 for the Landscape Management components (this Monday) we're facing a problem with getting the activity status via REST API with activities/<activityno>?query=fields=items(activityNumber,status)

It worked fine until now. Suddenly we're facing "500 Internal Server Error" responses and find the following error in LaMas java logs: "Cannot process an HTTP request to servlet [lama_api] in [lama-api] web application. For more details on the problem please check traces searching by logId: C000C2AFA09DB07600000005000052A6"

The only trace / log entry we find with this logId is the quoted one and nothing related during the time period it occured.

And as is always the case - the colleague who wrote the script is not available anymore...

Do you have any idea what changed / what's wrong here out of a sudden? The only thing I see in SAP note 3316859 that might refer to this is "The REST API returns an error when invalid query parameters are sent." - but how come this is suddenly invalid when it worked all the time before ... and I don't see any difference in the API reference...

Hopefully you experts can help us here.

Hi,

We have a scenario where we need to auto update few of the recommended SAP HANA parameters as part of NZDM HANA upgrade process . The parameter changes are usually done after each SAP HANA upgrade where SAP recommended new HANA parameters values are implemented/changed. Does LaMa have the option of accepting input as raw file data ? We would want to pass our several alter statement commands via file input in LaMa. The normal custom parameters have a limitaion of 1024 characters is what I have read.

Creating a custom process that runs steps on two separate hosts

I'm trying to figure out how to define a custom process that executes two steps... the first step will always execute on a specific host (host A) - download a certificate from a CA and store it in a centralized location, and the second step on the desired target operation host (host B)- apply certificate to local keystore. I know I can create an operation template that executes steps on specific hosts, but I don't want to have to create a separate op template for each host when I have many different hosts that I want to execute the second step for. There is no relation between Host A and Host B other than where I need the steps to execute. Is there any way to define a custom process that can be selected as on operation for HostB - and will execute step1 on HostA and step 2 on the selected host (HostB)?

How to create a LaMa repository that provides SPAM/SAINT updates for Linux AND AIX?

Dear community,

I'm afraid I know the answer, but I thought asking wouldn't hurt 😉

The thing is, SPAM/SAINT updates themselves are not platform-dependent. But according to the official Landscape Management documentation: "If your repository is on Linux (NFS), the global host of the system and all other SAP instances must be on Linux."
So our fileserver is Linux. For SPAM/SAINT updates directly in AIX-based SAP systems this works absolutely fine. Only LaMa won't let us use the "SPAM/SAINT update" function for AIX systems, hence the OS type linked to the LaMa repository is Linux. This attribute is automatically recognised by LaMa and I couldn't find any place to change it.
Same thing with other repos - e.g. ST-PI + ST-A/PI ... at least one exception is ACEXT. Here the OS seems to be tied to the file instead of the server's file system.

Does anyone of you have an idea, a trick, a hint or something how LaMa would accept files in a Linux repository as source for AIX SAP systems? Or do we seriously have to set up an additional AIX fileserver just for these patches?

SAP LaMa Repository for UNIX Adaptive Extensions

Hello,

i have a problem setting up a repository for the SAP Adaptive Extensions for UNIX-Server. I have created the repository and placed the latest UNIX SAR file (SAP TECHNOLOGY COMPONENTS/SAP ADAPTIVE EXTENSIONS/SAP ADAPTIVE EXTENSION 1.0 EXT/SAPACEXT_89-20010403.SAR) in the shared directory. However, when I try to create a configuration, it does not recognize the .SAR file. I always get the warning: "Nothing found in repository SAPACEXT_UNIX. Please check if the repository share is configured correctly."

When I place the SAR file for Windows there, it is automatically been recognized but not for UNIX. Does anyone have an idea why the Adaptive Extensions for Linux are not being recognized by LAMA?

RFC connection to the target works fine.
Fencing is allowed from the LAMA to Target system.

SAP Business One License Service not generating Hardware Key (HK) on AWS EC2

We are facing an issue where the SAP Business One License Service does not generate a Hardware Key (HK).

Environment details:

SAP Business One: 10.0 SP 2511
Database: MS SQL Server 2019
OS: Windows Server 2022
Infrastructure: AWS EC2

The License Service starts successfully, but no HK is generated, preventing license assignment.

Has anyone encountered this issue on AWS EC2 / virtualized environments, especially with Windows Server 2022?
Are there specific prerequisites, patches, or AWS-related configurations required for HK generation?

Any insights or guidance would be appreciated.
