For getting the discontinued attributes like email details, there are no options currently available. The custom ways are deploying another J2EE block or using Webservices in Netweaver.

Please, suggest any alternative.

Can you please tell the criteria to use MD04 while converting PR to PO and also the necessary elements need to be checked while placing PO like Delivery date, rescheduling date , dependent requirement etc.

Status update in S4 HANA not happening during Engineering order execution in SAP ME

Hi All,

I have created an Engineering order in SAP S4 HANA and released to SAP ME, During the Engineering order execution in SAP ME, I have started the operation, consumed few components (Assembling) and completed few operations.

even after completing the operations, I couldn't see any yield conf./component consumption messages in MII queue which resulted in status not getting updated in S4 system. for normal Prod. orders, it's working fine. but this issue is with Engineering order type.

could it be issue with any of the configuration in workflow or from ME settings?

can you please help me in here.

Standalone As-Built Configuration in SAP ME - Excess component Qty removal

Hi All,

I have stuck at a point while developing a custom solution for Excess qty removal for components in SFCs.

Issue: Due to changes in BOM in S4 after order release and start of execution in SAP ME, there is an error during the completion of the operation "Check config for <<SFC>> reports <<QTY>> missing <<component>>, 0 excess, 0 non-BOM and 0 test part Components (Message 13920)". upon checking, found that due to changes, there is an excess qty for the component is available, using standalone As-Built configuration activity, we were able to return the excess qty for an SFC but it's taking huge efforts to return for each SFC.

So, I have started developing a solution where the input will be the shop order and all the SFCs with the excess qty in the component should be returned.
I'm able to fetch the excess qty info from SFC_ASSY & SFC_ASSY_LOG tables.

I tried to use removeComponents PAPI but getting an error while executing the MII transaction.

can you please let me know if there is any standard service/solution is available to return the excess qty.

IDOC Message's Column is Different on SAP and MII

Hello everyone,

In our factory, our planning department creates work orders on SAP and this work orders comes to MII side with IDoc messages.

IDoc Message Type's name is ZPP_BIAS. And we're using it for 2 years without problem. This month, our SAP department added a new column in ZPP_BIAS IDoc Messages, it's name is KAPTPROG.

When we're creating a new message, column named KAPTPROG is seen on WE02 page. But when this message comes to MII side, this KAPTPROG column is not showing. I added two files to this message which is SAP and MII side XML's.

We checked everything on SAP for any lack of configuration but we couldn't find it. We believe problem is on MII side. On MII, we using SAPMEINT_INBOUND_QUEUE for processing rule for incoming IDoc messages.

So, any one of you have ever experienced a problem like this ? Or any one of you knows the solution for this problem ? Thanks advance.

Unable to browse tags on Plant Connectivity (PCo) UA server

Hi Experts,

I have created a OPC UA server from a socket source as below

Socket source -> Agent -> OPC UA Server

I have then created a OPC UA source system and am trying to browse tags on the OPC UA Server created as above.

I am expecting to see subscription item of the agent as one of the tags but I do not see it. I see only system tags for PCo there.

Am I missing anything?

Mass data upload/enhance tool in SAP DM

Hi Experts,

Use case: we are seeing the requirement to have the mass upload tool for SAP DM where we can upload/enhance the master data using this tool as we have data in excel/csv format.

For e.g.: customer is having so many data collection parameter and NC logging reason codes in the system so manually it will take lot of efforts and chances of error in configuration is very high.

in ME/MII we had the ability to develop the custom action block and deploy in MII and then we can call the API's of SAP ME to configure the data. Similar like functionality looking in SAP DM.

Has anyone also faced the similar challenge in their case and how you have overcome to this challenge. Just wanted to check the opinion of the community.

One approach i am seeing to develop a application/extension using Business application studio other then that if any other approaches are there please feel free to share the thoughts.

Hello, experts.
As I am implementing the first project in the public cloud, grow with SAP in the PP & QM module in discrete manufacturing. I have an idea on some apps like Monitor Production/Planned Orders, Display Stock Overview, Manage Production Orders, Manage Production Operation, and Process Inspection Lots.

But the business requirement is something different than

1) They want machine-wise orders that are in process with m/c utilization capacity in graphical or tabular format .

2) The second requirement is that the sequence of orders on every machine—i.e., if a business created 10 orders to be executed for a particular day, they want to give a sequence number to be executed on that machine. Is this possible in the public cloud with any standard SAP Fiori apps?

How to upload jar file in MII to consume in JSP page

Hello Folks,

Am creating a JSP page in SAP MII which is using a custom jar file. How can I upload the jar file in SAP MII to get the reference in JSP page.

I have tried the following but no luck.

1) Uploaded jar files in the same way we upload custom actions blocks.

2)Uploaded jar file in web folder

currently I am getting error while jsp compilation due to missing class file.

Am on SAP MII 15.1 SP5

Any help on this very much appreciated.

Failed to connect remote VM. Connection refused in NWDS

Hi All,

I have NWDS app in Citrix and configured the ME java project and created debug configuration.

Then started debugging, first time it worked and if I logoff and login ME and if If I try debugging it returns the error as "Failed to connect remote VM. Connection refused in NWDS".

If I created new workspace, then again it worked for first time and and next time it is returning same error.

Could you pls some help to resolve this issue.

Here using the port as 50121.

PCo:

PCo is known as Plant Connectivity. This tool is used to connect different plant applications. SAP MII has a dedicated PCo connector to communicate with PCo.

In this document we will cover

Save file

Read file

OPC connection

PCo Panels:

Save file via PCo:

Steps:

Create a folder to save file

Create a source system to save file the folder

Create an agent using the source system

Enable the checkbox Run Agent Instance as an Executable

Configure the Query Ports

Create the PCo connector at MII

Use PCo query to send the file

Tag store Query

Execute the query

Result:

File created at the source folder

Read File Via PCo:

Create a File monitoring source system to read the folder

Create an agent using the File monitoring source system

Subscribe File Contain and File Name

Create a notification

Subscribe the output elements

Select a destination transaction

Result:The destination Transaction gets executed on creation of a new file in the folder.

Connect OPC Via PCo – Write Values in tag:

Create a OPC DA source system to connect KEP Wear

Connect OPC Via PCo – Send OPC Notification:

MII agent and windows Services

“Run agent instance as an executable” – In most of the implementations, we enabled this checkbox when we needed the agent to be used from an outside system like SAP MII. We also differentiated the agents by two categories:

Agents will subscribe items and will send notification

Agents will only work as a connector for the MII system

The agents which subscribe and notifies MII are always needed to be running to keep reading the subscribed items. Whereas for the 2nd type of agents do not have any subscription item and will only listen to the port for any incoming request. So, the second type of agents does not require to run as a service always.

We realized when we enable the “Run agent instance as an executable”, the service is in stopped condition but still working as desired.

After categorizing the agents as above, we saw the server resource utilization decreased comparing before when we used to create the agents by disabling “Run agent instance as an executable”.

User SAPSR3DB does not exist during an SAP Netweaver fresh installation

Hello experts,

I'm installing SAP Netweaver 7.5 on a new windows server and I'm receiving an error "user 'SAPSR3DB' does not exist", but i think this is not usually done manually and not sure which issues that may cause.

I did create SAPSR3DB manually (with authorizations CONNECT, RESOURCE, DBA, UNLIMITED TABLESPACE), but then i face another error "tablespace 'PSAPTEMP' does not exist".

Guess i'm not supposed to create such database objects manually so i'm beginning to think that something is wrong with this installation, although i'm not understanding what. Dropped the users and restarted this installation from zero, and i stop in this exact same error.

SAP ME/MII msg type yieldConfirmationRequest goes into RETRY status and MESYS blocks reservation

Hi Experts ,

Did you faced these behaviours:

SAP ME/MII native message type yieldConfirmationRequest goes always into RETRY status when is processed for the

first time and only when the message is re-processed , the second time , it goes into correct status PASSED ; This is not good

at all because it increasing the processing time of the messages inside the MII queue ;

The second behavior is that the componentAddRequest message always goes first into FAILED status with the message:

User MESYS blocks the reservation xxxxxxxxxxxx ; Those kind of failed messages became PASSED only if they are manually RETRY; This is not good also because a time consuming manually intervention is needed ;

The above behaviours appeared after we installed:

SAP ME 15.5 Patch 43 first and then Patch 44 , SAP XMII 15.5.2.1 and SAP MII_ADMIN 15.5.2.1 ;

How to use JCO3 in MII with SSO

Switching to JCO3 (due to INT8), but cannot get it to work with SSO, error is "Initialisation of destination XXX failed : connection already closed".

It works fine in non-sso scenario.

SAP MII workbench for SAP ME 15.5 upgrade is not opening with Java 8 461

Hi, my SAP ME system is upgraded to ME 15.5. I am able to open workbench for the Dev server, Q server and also a different sandbox server. After the company refreshed Production data (SAP ME) into the sandbox system, the workbench for the sandbox server was not opening. I am getting this error.

I am having the latest java version. (recommended by BASIS Team to install)

Can anybody help me on this?

Production Orders created for a specific line are not showing up in SAP ME

Hi SAP experts.

Our client has 5 SPC Lines. When we create production order for these SPC Lines, the order is assigned to the workcenter as SPC1 (Operation 0020) and SPCW1(Operation 0010) for SPC Line 1. We can see the order in MES system for SPC Line 1 which is a custom screen designed using MII BLS and UI5. When the IDOC is released to MES, it get's processed by a Workflow configured in MII (XSLT file) and the data is stored in MES.

When we create orders for SPC5 line and released into MES, the order is not visible in MES SPC Line 5 screen. The order has been processed successfully, also available in Shop order maintenance. I also checked in the ROUTER_OPERATION Table in MII, both the 0010 and 0020 operations are available for the order.

Is there a way to understand why we are not able to see the SPC5 order in the MES screen?

Serial number are getting generated for Production order. At the same time Equipment number are also getting generated. Requirement is equipment number should not getting generated, it should getting generated through 3rd party while doing MIGO of production order.

We have developed a simple report in XMII with UI5 and we would like it to run continuously (24/7) without session timeout.

In addition, we want users to access the report directly without being prompted for login credentials. We are not looking for an SSO-based solution; instead, we are exploring whether there is a backend configuration or technical setup that would allow automatic authentication.

Currently, users must log in to XMII before they can open the UI5 report.

Is there any configuration or development approach that would allow:

Access to the report without manual login
Continuous availability (24/7) without session timeout

We would greatly appreciate any detailed guidance, configuration steps, or best practice recommendations.
