Misuse of S4 Hana Tasklists for technical punching

Just an exchange of ideas here.

Our IM department there opinion is that every process should be covered in SAP.

So how realistic is it to integrate a complete technical punch process including technical completion, commissioning, startup and hold points (verification) into S4 Hana through task lists. In my view this is abusing SAP as it should be used.

Refresh issue in the Task UI Inbox

Hello,

We face an issue with the tasks UI inbox where the init method is defined. When the task first gets loaded in the inbox, we see additional tabs that are meant to be shown on a certain condition. Obviously, the condition is not loaded or checked at the beginning of the loading of the screen.

Only, when we do "Empty cache and hard refresh", the actual screen with limited tabs get loaded.

This happens every time a new task is loaded in the "My Inbox" app. We suspect some cache data is stored before we manually empty the cache and refresh the data. Is there a specific function/method that we can include in the init function so that cache is cleared everytime we try to load the task UI?

Hi,

We are setting up Task center with Workzone standard edition for a POC. We've executed the dedicated booster, set up the destination for the S4HANA, private cloud backend, and enabled it for Task center.

However, we are getting the following error in the Task center admin. Also there's an error in the service status tab: Error is: Path not found in JSON: /certificates | Error Code 500.

Server returned HTTP response code: 401 for URL: http://xxxxxxx:43300/sap/opu/odata4/sap/api_task_spi_replication/default/sap/api_task_spi_replication/0001/taskDefinitions?$skip=0&$top=1000&languages=en-US%2Cde-DE&sap-client=110

Why does it say unauthorized? The backend user configured in the runtime destination has SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW and the destination is up and reachable. I've also verified that the OData service is active and can be queried outside Workzone with the same user as in the destination.

What could be the issue?

I am getting this
No Backend Services Found

when trying to add API_TASK_SPI_REPLICATION with tcode /n/IWFND/MAINT_SERVICES to activate in the "Activate and Maintain Services" .

I have tried everything and with all System Alias

Tried this /n/iwbep/reg_service but still cant add this service.
Does it need to be added when the system was provisioned?
Am I missing something?

Task Center not attributing tasks correctly

I am connecting SAP Build Process Automation My Inbox, and Task Center, in the same subaccount.

I have done the steps from: https://help.sap.com/docs/build-process-automation/sap-build-process-automation/using-same-subaccount

I have configured Task Center with a booster and configured the destinations properly, and it is working, the tasks are being retrieved, but I am not being assigned as an approver to the task.

I already configured Cloud Identity Services, and e-mail as Subject Name Attribute.

I tried to refresh tasks, by removing and adding the property "tc.enabled" from "SAPBuildPA" Destination, and it did not work too.

Work Zone My Inbox / Task Center: solution to get Open Task to generate a URL accessible through WZ

When the user navigates to "Open Task" and the task is configured to show details in a Web Dynpro ABAP application then the backend system generates a URL pointing to that backend system directly. For a seamless experience, it not only requires that backend to be exposed on the internet (with or without a gateway system), but also requires SAML2 to be setup. It defeats the purpose of Work Zone being the internet facing portal making backend applications accessible via the SAP Cloud Connector.

Is there a solution offered by SAP that allows the Open Task action to lead to a URL that is accessible within Work Zone itself?

I hope it's supported. If it's not, then I plan to explore enhancing the class that generates the URL and return a link to WZ targetting the Shell-startWDA intent.

Can Azure AD be used in SAP Task Center config in place of SAP Identity Services for User Auth

Hi Experts,

I have to configure SAP task Center for my S4 system which is connected via Cloud Connector to subaccount where task center instance is running. I have gone through lot's of notes and Blog's but everywhere its written that we need to have & use SAP Cloud Identity Services as a prerequisite for SAP Task Center and the integration with the task providers. But in our case we use Custom identity Provider .i.e Azure AD. So we want to make use of Azure AD in place of SAP Cloud Identity Services. Guys please comments your views if it possible and if yes then how we can use it.

Taskcenter does not receive S4 task notifications

Hello team !

We are having the following issue, we have integrated S/4HANA with SAP Task Center + Mobile Start, everything work as expected but, in the Task Center the Notifications of new tasks are not being displayed in the bell in the page header.

User notifications for taskcenter tasks are not being displayed. When a Purchase Order Approval workflow task is sent to users, the notification is not presented in the workzone.

The notification is working normally through Fiori's Myinbox.

Only in the workzone that is not working properly.

When performing a test of sending a notification through the transaction /n/IWNGW/BEP_DEMO it is displayed in the Fiori myinbox correctly, but it is not displayed in the workzone.

When accessing the /N/IWFND/ERROR_LOG log, the following message is presented: "The remote service triggered a client error '400': 'Bad Request'"

Unfair Exam Failure Certification ID Removed by Moderation

Dear SAP Certification Support Team,

I hope this email finds you well. I am writing complaint (Certification ID:***Removed by Moderation***), i have recently attempted the C_ABAP_2309 certification exam. Unfortunately, he has encountered an unfair exam failure due to a misunderstanding by the examiner.

During his exam, I carefully answered all questions and clicked the Submit button to complete the test. However, after submission, the examiner wrongly assumed he was involved in cheating, despite no valid evidence or prior discussion. As a result, he was unfairly marked as failed without any opportunity to clarify the situation.

Since the exam, we have made multiple attempts to contact SAP via customer support and other official channels but have received no response. This issue is affecting my brother’s career opportunities, and we request immediate action to review his case.

We kindly ask you to:

Review the exam session recording to verify that there was no misconduct.

SAP Task Center with SAP Build Process Automation no Approve/Reject button on Mobile Start

Hi,

I activated SAP Task Center connecting it to SAP Build Process Automation.

So far so good, but when I view the task on SAP Mobile Start it is not presenting the Approve/Reject buttons.

Does anyone know if it is a product limitation or if I am missing a configuration somewhere?

SAP Mobile Start via SAP Start Booster – No Apps or Products Showing Post Setup (Foundation Plan)

We are currently working on enabling access to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Fiori applications via the SAP Mobile Start app, using the SAP Start booster in SAP BTP. However, we are facing an issue where no content appears on the SAP Start launchpad—even though the setup completes successfully.

Initial Approach – Manual Configuration

Initially, we tried to manually expose S/4HANA content to SAP Build Work Zone (Foundation Plan):

Verified that relevant business catalogs were marked as “Available for SAP Build Work Zone / SAP Start.”
Ensured that business roles were properly configured and exposed to SAP BTP.

Challenge:
Due to limitations of the Foundation Plan, we were unable to access the Content Manager or assign roles in the Site Directory, which prevented us from proceeding further with manual setup.

Alternative Approach – SAP Start Booster

To overcome these constraints, we executed the “Set Up SAP Start” Booster from SAP BTP. The booster ran successfully and completed the following:

✅ Created the BTP subaccount, assigned entitlements, and configured trust.
✅ Subscribed to SAP Build Work Zone – Foundation Plan.
✅ Configured destinations to the SAP S/4HANA Cloud system.
✅ Created the default SAP Start site.
✅ Set up SAP Cloud Identity Services (IAS and IPS).
✅ Integrated the S/4HANA Cloud system automatically.

As a result, the SAP Start site is now accessible via both desktop and the SAP Mobile Start app.

Current Issue

Despite the successful booster execution:

⚠️ SAP Start site shows the message:
“Currently, there aren’t any products for you. Please check back again later.”
⚠️ No Fiori apps or S/4HANA content is visible in the launchpad.

Troubleshooting Performed

We have already validated the following:

🔹 Trust configuration between BTP and IAS is correctly set.
🔹 Users are provisioned and mapped properly via IPS.
🔹 Exposed business catalogs and roles in S/4HANA.
🔹 Booster completed without any reported errors.
🔹 Attempted to recheck destinations and Channel Manager (though limited under Foundation Plan).
🔹 Tried accessing SAP Start from both desktop and mobile, same result.

Request for Help / Clarifications

We’d appreciate your support with the following:

Is there any missing step required to make the apps visible after the booster setup?
Does the Foundation Plan impose any limitation that restricts content visibility in SAP Start?
Would upgrading to SAP Build Work Zone – Standard Plan be required for full SAP Start functionality?
Can anyone who successfully implemented SAP Mobile Start via Foundation Plan share insights?

Any pointers or confirmations from the SAP team or community experts would be greatly appreciated.

Issue with Action Buttons for Purchase Requisition Tasks in SAP Task Center Integration

Hi,

We are currently configuring the integration between SAP Task Center and SAP S/4HANA to enable the approval and rejection of Purchase Requisition tasks through SAP Mobile Start.

At this stage, the tasks and their details are being successfully retrieved by Task Center. However, we are facing an issue where the “Accept” and “Reject” action buttons are not functioning properly, preventing users from completing the approval process.

The buttons don't show any letter and have different message errors when clicked.

When clicking the supposed Accept or Reject buttons (Which are only red or green with no text) it says that 0 is selected, indepentendly of which button is chosen.

When "Submit" is clicked the next error is presented:

Hey there,

we got a strange situation. We have set up SAP Work Zone, advanced edition in one subaccount and also SAP Task Center in this subaccount. It works fine. Even tasks of Work Zone get into the Task Center. We have a destination for Identity_Authentication_Connectivity_IDS in this subaccount, and the service status is also okay.

So now we want to add SAP Build Process Automation with plan build-default that lives in another subaccount. So we got into the subaccount of Work Zone and Task Center and created the destination SAPBuildPA_rem, as it is in another subaccount. As soon as we enable the Task Center on this destination with tc.enabled=true, Task Center Administration will recognize it, but say there is an error. I think it was something like Identity_Authentication_Connectivity_IDS also needs to be there, and somehow the service tab then also showed errors for the service now. We added the Identity_Authentication_Connectivity_IDS destination as well for the subaccount of SAP BPA, even though it's not stated in the documentation. But somehow it will still fail for the SAPBuildPA_rem destination in the Task Center Administration and say Identity_Authentication_Connectivity_IDS could not be found for subaccount ID <where SAP BPA lives>, which is not true, as this destination exists.

What is wrong?

Due to connectivity issues the next try to get task data will start in 30 seconds. Exception: {"error":{"code":"sap.workflowservice.ids.unavailable","message":"Unable to find destination Identity_Authentication_Connectivity_IDS for tenant: '********************'"}}

We have problems in general that we can also not get SAP Build Process Automation into Work Zone advanced. The inbox also states an error. The authentication of SAP BPA is behind a corporate IDP, and for Work Zone and Task Center, it is not. But this still makes no sense for the main Task Center error.
