Availability/Activation of Situation Handling in S/4 HANA in general

Is there an general overview or a web-site with information about in which S/4 HANA releases (Cloud and on premise) SAP Situation Handling is available?
(maybe also with some information about possible additional costs)

We would like to figure out, where/when the standard/extended framework of SAP Situation Handling is available in S/4 HANA (or maybe not, which causes additional activation costs)

External Recipient (Not SAP User) for Email Notification in SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Hi Experts,

We're setting up Situation Handling - Extended scenarios to enable some custom notifications with emailing options. Requirement here is to send email to the external users who are not SAP users. Those users need not to click on any action button but we'd like to inform them about the situation. When we are adding the team members, I don't see any options to add any external non-sap users/emails. Can we achieve that in SAP S/4HANA Cloud ? Please let me know if you have any other suggestions.

Custom Situation Handling: Message cost center responsible user locked

Dear SAP Experts,

I have a customer request to receive messages when a cost center responsible/owner becomes locked. For example, when this person leaves the company.

Our customer does the following when this person leaves the company:

1) App Maintain Business Users: Lock indicator

- Manual intervention for external persons such as external consultants.

- Interface for internal persons (only lock indicator is sent)

We tried to configure this in the system (see attachment).

Object: Underlying structure is a custom CDS view

Trigger: Underlying structure is the same CDS view

Situation Scenario: cost center responsible (business user) stops working at the customer (= locked status in S4) -> Throw message.

We tried to trigger events in 2 different ways (e.g. ABAP class)

We still don’t get a warning message when a user gets locked after this configuration.

Can someone in this community help us out with this?

We have created a custom situation type for contract Expiry using the standard situation template 'PROC_ABOUT_TO_EXPIRE_CTR' in our D1C 010 Client. We have another client 020 where we have all the master and transaction data. Now When we are using the option 'Save to Transport', we are getting below error -

The Situation Scenario used for our case is also the standard one.

Can anyone knows how can we move this to another system?

Dear Team,

We are trying to enable the situation handling for the contract expiry through situation template PROC_CONTRACTCONSUMPTNPREDICTION. We have done the notification configuration and test notification is triggering to fiori. We have created a situation type via manage situation type app and It is triggering and i am able to see the logs in SLG1. As per the logs it is checking the data in table I_PURCONTRITMCNSMPNPREDICTION. But this table is updating from the ISLM Model QTY_CONTRACT_CNSMPN and which is not active in our system. Can any one suggest whether I am in right path or I missed something. Please suggest to move ahead as well.

Manage Situation Types for EWM inventory document on S/4H Cloud Public Edition

Hi everyone,

I have a question about how to manage situations while processing physical inventory in SAP EWM Cloud Public Edition.

The objective here is to send a notification to the user when an inventory document is created and counted so he can confirm the counted quantities. It works very fine when using IM storage location (scope item BML). In the scope item BML, the system suggests to use situation type "ZMAN_PHYSICAL_INVENTORY_MONITOR" (tile : Manage Situation Types) where we can write the message to send when for example the inventory document is counted (we can define other criteria). We can run a background job or trigger it manually to send the notification.

Now for the scope item 3BX, where we use inventory document for EWM storage location. The situation type doesn't send any message or notification even if we put the EWM storage location in customized criteria in situation type.

Anyone has already seen this issue or can suggest me how to send a notification after a certain situation (in inventory process) in EWM on a S/4H Cloud Public Edition System ?

Situation Handling Type PROC_PURCHASEREQUISITION not triggering notification

Dear Experts,

We have a scenario where the procurement team needs to receive a Fiori app notification after a Purchase Requisition (PR) is approved or rejected. To achieve this, I tried configuring an event-based situation using the Situation type PROC_PURCHASEREQUISITION and set the condition as "Release Status" = "Approved" or "Rejected". I also tried using PROCESSING STATUS = "X". However, even after creating and approving the purchase requisition, the situation was triggered but the notification was not sent to the team (list of users).

Upon checking the Situation Log, I noticed the message "No Instances detected".

Additional MRP Exceptions for Situation Handling?

Dear all,

My client currently has situation handling set up for MRP exceptions (Cancel Process in particular) as MRP exception monitoring is important to the production processes.

Three MRP exceptions need to be monitored on a daily basis for all procured materials:

- Cancel Process

- Reschedule in

- Reschedule out

Situation handling for MRP exceptions does not include the 'Reschedule in' and 'Reschedule out' exceptions.

Will future versions of SAP allow to create situation types for the 'Reschedule in' and 'Reschedule out' exceptions?

If not, will the 'Detect MRP Situations' tile ever be able to detect the 'Reschedule in' and 'Reschedule out' exceptions?

If both answers negative, are the 'Reschedule in' and 'Reschedule out' exceptions still part of the target architecture?

If so, what would be the correct way to monitor 'Reschedule in' and 'Reschedule out' exceptions for all procured materials?

How to add team category to Situation Template?

Hi all,

I am trying to set a Situation Handling functionality into our client´s SAP (private cloud) but I can not assign any Team Category to the new Situation Type. In some templates delivered by SAP is it working and it loads team category automatically, but in many others copied templates it does not. Any ideas how to solve that? Could be the problem that some of them (templates/teams categories/....) are not activated yet?

Extended Situation Handling in S4Hana Public Cloud

Hi all,

I created several extended situations in my S/4Hana Public Cloud system, but some situations return an error upon triggering: "Entity=references_to_objects_not_allowed". The error seems to suggest that some business objects of SAP cannot be used for extended situation handling or am I perhaps wrong?

The SAP object type on which I created this extended situation handling is Journal Entry and the event should be triggered with event CL_FINS_JOURNALENTRY_SOT_EVENT.

Is there also some trouble shooting documentation about the triggers of situation handling?

Triggering credit limit request notification via situation type

I am implementing credit limit request notification via situation type.

In terms of approver group in the credit limit request, it is determined properly. The situation type I’m using is copied from situation template FIN_CLR_APPROVAL which in turn uses responsibility rule FIN_CLR_APPROVER for agent determination.

So far no notification has been triggered when the credit limit request is put into status “In Approval”.

Can anyone suggest a possible reason for this behaviour?

I'm reaching out to gather insights regarding an initiative we're undertaking for a client. They are eager to implement a centralized system for disseminating important information to their end users, such as process changes, updates, and downtime notifications.

Our initial thought was to leverage the notification service within the Launchpad for this purpose. However, it appears that the options for sending custom notifications in the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition might be limited

With this in mind, I've been exploring alternative solutions and came across the possibility of using Situation Handling as a potential workaround for posting notifications. My understanding is somewhat limited, and I've noticed a lack of comprehensive documentation on integrating situation handling with custom business objects

I would greatly appreciate any advice, experiences, or insights you could share on this matter. Specifically, is it feasible to create a situation object linked to a custom business object for this purpose? Or are there other strategies within the S/4 HANA ecosystem that you would recommend for achieving centralized communication with end users?

For the situation type there is no rule available in the template. When we click on Add new the search results are empty. How do we add a rule in the recipient section?

I am Trying to create a custom situation handling scenario where a notification will be triggered after every FG Goods movement, it will help the Logistic team to plan dispatch activities.

For this purpose I have created a custom situation object using Event Object "CL_MMIM_MATDOC_EVENT" i.e Material Document Created. And further created Situation Scenario and Type Accordingly. When I run the Situation type using batch trigger i get the appropriate notification

But when triggering an Event I get the following Error "Message =Data loss occurred when converting 20244900000941" it is unable to separate Document Year and Number.
