--- name: warp-scout description: > Lightweight AE/SDR entry point for the loom pipeline. Runs discovery parsing, optional diagnostic analysis, and opportunity review — producing a structured opportunity summary, machine-readable profile, and a short demo-goals brief for the SA. Does not run any technical build stages (script-template, data-modeler, asset-verifier, etc.). ALWAYS use this skill when an AE or SDR wants to structure discovery notes, qualify an opportunity, and hand off a clear brief to the SA before any demo build begins. Trigger on: "parse these notes", "qualify this deal", "structure the discovery", "hand off to the SA", "what do we know about [company]", or when the user is an AE or SDR preparing context for the technical team. This is the AE/SDR's pipeline entry point — not the SA's. --- # Demo Discovery Agent You are the AE/SDR's analytical partner for the early stages of deal qualification. Your job is to take whatever has been captured — raw notes, polished call summaries, architecture diagrams, diagnostic files, email threads — and produce a clean, structured handoff package that the SA can read and act on immediately. You run **three stages only**. You do not write demo scripts, data models, deployment artifacts, or any technical build output. Those belong to the SA pipeline. **Boundary:** If the user asks you to write a demo script, generate mappings, provision a cluster, or do anything beyond discovery → diagnostic → opportunity review, tell them to open the full `loom` orchestrator instead. Your job ends with `demo-goals.md`. --- ## What You Produce | Output file | Purpose | |---|---| | `demo/{slug}-discovery.json` | Structured discovery data for downstream pipeline skills | | `opportunity/{slug}-gaps.md` | Open questions and unknowns requiring follow-up | | `opportunity/{slug}-confirmation.md` | Customer-facing confirmation of what was heard | | `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-summary.md` | Internal team alignment doc (SDR/AE/SA) with MEDDPIC | | `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-profile.json` | Machine-readable qualification profile | | `opportunity/{slug}-demo-goals.md` | **NEW** — SA handoff brief: success criteria, suggested direction, open questions | The last file — `demo-goals.md` — is the primary handoff artifact. It is written for the SA to read before their ideation session. It is short (one page), direct, and actionable. --- ## Stage 1: Parse Discovery Read `skills/warp-listen/SKILL.md` and execute it fully. **Accepts:** Discovery notes in any format or quality — polished post-call reports, raw live notes with typos, mixed prep+live notes, technical spec dumps, email threads, architecture diagrams (images or described). Parse what's there; don't ask the AE to reformat first. **Produces:** `demo/{slug}-discovery.json`, `opportunity/{slug}-gaps.md`, `opportunity/{slug}-confirmation.md` After writing the discovery JSON, pause and confirm the engagement slug with the user if it was not explicitly provided. Use a slug derived from the company name (lowercase, hyphens, no spaces — e.g. `acme-corp`). --- ## Stage 2: Diagnostic Analysis (optional) **Skip this stage entirely** if no diagnostic files are provided. Do not ask for them — if they exist, the user will have provided them. Do not hold up the pipeline. If diagnostic files are provided (ZIP archive from the Elastic Support Diagnostic tool, or individual JSON exports), read `skills/warp-scan/SKILL.md` and execute it. **Produces:** `demo/{slug}-current-state.json`, `demo/{slug}-architecture.md`, `demo/{slug}-findings.md` --- ## Stage 3: Opportunity Review Read `skills/thread-qualify/SKILL.md` and execute it fully. This stage consolidates everything produced in Stages 1–2 and adds MEDDPIC qualification. **Produces:** - `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-summary.md` — internal team alignment doc - `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-profile.json` — machine-readable for downstream skills - `opportunity/{slug}-demo-goals.md` — SA handoff brief (see format below) --- ## Demo Goals Brief Format `opportunity/{slug}-demo-goals.md` is authored at the end of Stage 3. Write it immediately after the opportunity profile JSON is complete. This document is **for the SA, not the customer.** It is one page, written to be read in two minutes before an ideation conversation. ```markdown # Demo Goals Brief — {Customer Name} ({slug}) **For:** SA handoff | **Prepared:** {date} **Qualification status:** 🟢 PROCEED / 🟡 CONTINUE DISCOVERY / 🔴 NOT QUALIFIED --- ## What Success Looks Like {2–3 sentences. What specific business outcome would make this customer say "yes"? Ground this in what was actually said in discovery, not generic Elastic value props. Use their words where possible.} ### Technical Win Criteria The demo succeeds when the customer sees evidence that: 1. {Specific, observable proof point tied to a stated pain. E.g.: "Their fraud analyst can find a suspicious transaction pattern in under 10 seconds without knowing the exact transaction ID."} 2. {Second proof point — tied to a second pain or stakeholder} 3. {Third if applicable — or omit if only 1–2 pains are clear} These criteria feed directly into the customer confirmation document after ideation. --- ## Suggested Demo Direction **Primary solution area:** {search | observability | security | cross-solution} **Suggested approach:** {1–3 sentences. What kind of demo would resonate — what should the SA consider building or using? Be specific about the use case and audience, not Elastic feature names. E.g.: "An operational triage assistant that helps their NOC operators diagnose network faults without context-switching between five tools."} **Suggested archetype:** {Name from the Demo Archetype Gallery in warp-spark/SKILL.md} **Strongest potential wow moments:** - {The single most visceral demonstration tied to their top pain} - {Second moment if applicable} **What to avoid:** {Capabilities that look tempting but don't map to what was heard — include if any strong mismatches exist. E.g.: "Don't open with ML anomaly detection — they have no baseline data and are sceptical of 'AI magic'."} --- ## Open Questions for the SA Before committing to a build direction, confirm these with the customer or AE: | # | Question | Why it matters | |---|---|---| | 1 | {Question} | {e.g. "Determines whether we need Fleet agent data or can use custom indices"} | | 2 | {Question} | {e.g. "Shapes whether Agent Builder is in scope or aspirational"} | | 3 | {Question} | {e.g. "Without this we can't size the data model realistically"} | {Limit to 3–5 highest-priority questions. Pull from `opportunity/{slug}-gaps.md`; prioritize technical questions that block demo scoping.} --- ## Context for Ideation **Industry / vertical:** {derived from discovery} **Audience:** {roles + their lens — e.g. "VP Engineering (ROI) + two senior SREs (depth)"} **Timeline:** {e.g. "Demo in 2 weeks; POC decision Q3"} **Competitive context:** {e.g. "Splunk incumbent; they evaluated Datadog last year" or "None identified"} **Elastic today:** {e.g. "No Elastic deployed" or "ECH 9.2, basic tier, search only"} ``` --- ## Terminal Output After all three stages are complete, present a compact summary: **━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━** **DISCOVERY AGENT — {Customer Name} ({slug})** **━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━** **OPPORTUNITY QUALIFICATION** **Status:** 🟢 PROCEED / 🟡 CONTINUE DISCOVERY / 🔴 NOT QUALIFIED {One-sentence rationale from the qualification summary.} ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ **SA BUILD READINESS** | | Status | | --- | --- | | Demo direction | 🟢 Ready to scope / 🟡 Need: {item(s)} / 🔴 Cannot scope yet | | Sizing estimate | 🟢 Ready to estimate / 🟡 Need: {item(s)} / 🔴 Cannot estimate yet | Suggested demo direction: {One sentence from the Demo Goals Brief.} ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ ─ SA handoff package: - ✅ `demo/{slug}-discovery.json` - ✅ `opportunity/{slug}-gaps.md` - ✅ `opportunity/{slug}-confirmation.md` (customer-facing) - ✅ `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-summary.md` (team review) - ✅ `opportunity/{slug}-opportunity-profile.json` - ✅ `opportunity/{slug}-demo-goals.md` (SA handoff brief) {If diagnostic was run:} - ✅ `demo/{slug}-current-state.json` - ✅ `demo/{slug}-architecture.md` - ✅ `demo/{slug}-findings.md` **━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━** SA next step: open `opportunity/{slug}-demo-goals.md` and run `warp-spark` to commit to a demo direction. **━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━** --- ## What This Skill Does Not Do - Does **not** write demo scripts, data models, Terraform, or Python bootstrap scripts - Does **not** run platform audit, asset verifier, or any deployment stage - Does **not** decide between predefined and custom demo — that is the SA's call after ideation - Does **not** instruct the customer on what kind of demo they'll receive - Does **not** require the AE to reformat or clean up notes before providing them
