# Privacy Policy

OneRemote ("the app") lets you discover and control Smart TVs (LG, Android TV, Samsung, Roku,
Vizio) and, via a Broadlink RM4 hub, climate/fan/light devices — all over your home Wi-Fi
network. This policy explains what the app does — and does not do — with your data.

## Summary

Controlling your TVs and appliances happens entirely on your local network — that traffic never
reaches OneRemote, Google, or anyone else. Separately, the app uses Google Analytics for Firebase,
Firebase Crashlytics, and Google AdMob to understand usage, diagnose crashes, and show ads that
keep the app free. Advertising and analytics identifiers are only used with the consent (or
permission) you're asked for, as described below.

## What the app accesses to control your devices

- **Local network access** — to find TVs and Broadlink hubs on your Wi-Fi network and to send
  remote-control commands (power, volume, navigation, temperature, etc.) directly to the device
  you pair with. This traffic never leaves your local network.
- **Device list** — the name, brand, and IP address of each TV, hub, and appliance you add is
  stored on your device (not in the cloud) so you don't have to re-enter it every time you open
  the app.
- **Pairing secrets** — the token or key each device gives you during pairing is stored
  separately, using the operating system's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore).

Neither is ever transmitted anywhere except back to the paired device itself, and both are
deleted from your device if you remove that device or clear all paired devices in Settings.

## Analytics and crash reporting

The app uses **Google Analytics for Firebase** and **Firebase Crashlytics** to understand which
features are used and to diagnose crashes/errors. The events sent are deliberately limited to a
small, non-identifying payload — brand names, which key or action was used, and whether an
operation succeeded — plus standard device/app diagnostics (OS version, app version, crash stack
traces). We do **not** send your TV's or hub's IP address, device name, or any local-network
identifier to Firebase.

## Advertising

The app shows banner and occasional interstitial ads via **Google AdMob** to support free access
to the app, on the Devices and Settings screens only (never during an active remote-control
session). AdMob and its partners may use an advertising identifier (Apple's IDFA or Android's
Advertising ID) to serve and measure ads.

- **On iOS**, the app requests App Tracking Transparency permission before any ad that could use
  the IDFA is requested. If you decline, ads are still shown but are not personalized to you.
- **In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland**, the app shows a consent form (via Google's User Messaging
  Platform) before requesting any ads, so you can choose whether ads are personalized.
- You can review or change your ad consent choices at any time from AdMob's privacy options form,
  where offered.

## What the app does not do

- It does not require or support user accounts, sign-in, or cloud sync.
- It does not send your TV/hub IP address, device name, or local-network traffic anywhere outside
  your home network.
- It does not sell your data.

## Children's privacy

OneRemote is not directed at children under 13. It does not knowingly collect personal
information from children, and does not serve personalized ads to any user who has not provided
the consent/permission described above.

## Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, this page will be updated and the "Last updated" date above will change
accordingly.
