# CCGO-RL Package (ccgo-rl)

## Overview

ccgo-rl packages reusable parts of the Curiosity-Conditioned Goal-Optimal RL (CCGO-RL)
release outputs as a Python library plus an additive MCP companion interface.

Primary capabilities:
- Synthetic benchmark simulation for adaptive intrinsic-extrinsic RL comparisons.
- Baseline-level summary statistics with bootstrap confidence intervals.
- Theorem-aligned symbolic checks for C1/C2 validation obligations.

## Installation

Canonical omegaXiv user flow:

1. pip install omegaxiv
2. ox install ccgo-rl==0.1.0

MCP registration (additive, optional):
- ox install ccgo-rl==0.1.0 --mcp
- ox install ccgo-rl==0.1.0 --mcp=codex
- ox install ccgo-rl==0.1.0 --mcp=claude
- ox install ccgo-rl==0.1.0 --mcp=all

Maintainer/dev-only local source install:
- python -m pip install ./packages/ccgo-rl

## Configuration

Runtime configuration is explicit and code-level:
- BenchmarkConfig: seeds, datasets, baselines, claim identifier (h1 / h2).
- CCGORLSimulator: optional custom baseline offsets.
- SymbolicVerifier: optional output directory for generated CSV/Markdown reports.

## Usage Examples

### Python API

from ccgo_rl import CCGOService

service = CCGOService()
rows = service.run_simulation(
    seeds=[7, 11, 23],
    datasets=["sparse_goal_nav", "deceptive_maze"],
    baselines=["CCGO_adaptive", "HER_SAC", "Contrastive_always_on"],
    claim="h1",
)

summary = service.summarize(
    rows=rows,
    metrics=["final_return", "auc", "bound_residual"],
)

symbolic = service.run_symbolic_checks(output_dir="./sympy_out")

### MCP Companion Interface

The package ships a stdio MCP companion server:
- Launch: python -m ccgo_rl.mcp_server
- Transport: stdio
- Exposed tools:
  - simulate_benchmark
  - summarize_baselines
  - run_symbolic_checks
  - run_validation_bundle

Example client launch configuration:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "ccgo-rl": {
      "command": "python",
      "args": ["-m", "ccgo_rl.mcp_server"],
      "transport": "stdio",
      "env": {}
    }
  }
}

Python API to MCP mapping:
- CCGOService.run_simulation -> simulate_benchmark
- CCGOService.summarize -> summarize_baselines
- CCGOService.run_symbolic_checks -> run_symbolic_checks
- CCGOService.run_validation_bundle -> run_validation_bundle

## Troubleshooting

- ModuleNotFoundError: ccgo_rl
  verify installation completed and you are using the same Python environment.
- Slow symbolic checks:
  run with smaller ad hoc workloads first and write outputs to a dedicated directory.
- MCP launch issues:
  run python -m ccgo_rl.mcp_server --help in the installed environment and confirm
  the resolved command matches your MCP client configuration.
