Jibril (Gabriel, peace be upon him) was commissioned by Allah to hear and convey His Words to Muhammad (peace be upon him) which he recited for him. It also contain supplications, such as: **"(They say): "Our Lord! Let not our hearts deviate (from the truth) after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from You. Truly, You are the Bestower."** [(Aal Imran, 3:8)](/quran?verse=3:8). This supplication is an Ayah (Qur’anic verse) from the Words of Allah (Exalted be He).
