# Provenance and upstream inspiration Homearchy is an independent implementation for the Omarchy shell. Its source was written in QML and Python against Omarchy plugin APIs and Home Assistant's documented REST and WebSocket APIs. ## Advanced Room Card [Advanced Room Card](https://github.com/Lawris/advanced-room-card) by Lawris inspired Homearchy's presence-first product concept: occupied rooms rise to the top, recent presence affects ordering, and room summaries combine presence, climate, and lighting context. Its [video showcase](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=msdjtYXhyrk) is also credited in the README. Advanced Room Card is licensed under GPL-3.0. Homearchy does not copy, modify, link, bundle, import, or execute Advanced Room Card source code. It does not include ARC screenshots, artwork, documentation, build output, or other assets. Homearchy therefore remains an independent MIT-licensed work rather than a modified version of ARC. ## Audit record On 2026-08-22, the published ARC repository was compared with the complete Homearchy source tree: - ARC is a TypeScript/Lit Lovelace card; Homearchy is a QML/Python Omarchy plugin. - The repositories share no runtime dependency or code path. - An exact normalized comparison found no matching implementation lines of 60 or more characters. - Homearchy's screenshots were captured from its own live interface. - Homearchy's only bundled third-party visual asset is the Home Assistant logomark documented in [Third-party notices](../THIRD_PARTY_NOTICES.md). Future contributions must not copy ARC source or assets unless their GPL-3.0 obligations are reviewed and the project licensing decision is revisited first. Product ideas may be discussed and credited, but implementations must remain independently authored.
