# Aqtual

> Aqtual, Inc. is a Hayward, California precision-medicine company founded in 2019 by Diana Abdueva (Founder and CEO) with co-founder Rich Rava. It develops blood-based diagnostics on a proprietary "active chromatin" cell-free DNA (cfDNA) platform that reads DNA, epigenetic regulation and protein-DNA binding from a single routine blood draw. Its lead product is a therapy-response prediction test for rheumatoid arthritis; oncology programs cover immunotherapy response in leiomyosarcoma and early colorectal cancer detection.

Aqtual is a clinical-diagnostics and life-sciences business, not a software vendor. As of 2026-08-02 it publishes **no public API, no developer portal, no API documentation and no machine-readable API contract**. Its web presence is a five-page Nuxt marketing and newsroom site plus a two-post blog. Do not assume or invent an `api.aqtual.com`, `docs.aqtual.com` or `developer.aqtual.com` endpoint — none of those hosts resolve. The `Disallow: /api/`, `/admin/`, `/control/` and `/media/` lines in its robots.txt refer to the site CMS's own back-office paths, not to an Aqtual API; all of them 404 anonymously.

## Technology

An "active chromatin" cfDNA platform. Instead of reading cell-free DNA for mutations alone, Aqtual captures the cfDNA fragments associated with active chromatin — regions of the genome where genes are actively being expressed — so a single blood draw reports on gene regulation, epigenetics and transcriptomics together. Company materials describe surveying on the order of 200,000 gene promoters, 400,000 enhancers, 50,000 insulators, 20,000 silencers and one million transcription-factor binding sites. Stated expansion areas beyond rheumatology and oncology are immunology, cardiovascular, metabolic and neurological disease.
