# Bloomberg Data Sets

> Bloomberg L.P. provides financial market data, reference data, analytics and news to
> financial professionals. This file describes the machine-facing surface of Bloomberg's
> data products as an independent third-party profile maintained by API Evangelist. It
> is generated from the API Evangelist catalog entry and the artifacts in this
> repository; Bloomberg does not publish an llms.txt.

Bloomberg publishes no OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, GraphQL schema, gRPC/Protobuf definition, WSDL
or MCP server on any anonymously reachable host. Its two machine-facing surfaces are the
BLPAPI session protocol (a native SDK, not HTTP) and the Data License Hypermedia API
(HTTP, JWT-gated, reference documentation behind the Enterprise Console). Every link
below was fetched and its HTTP status recorded on 2026-08-27.

- [Bloomberg Data License (Hypermedia API)](https://api.bloomberg.com/eap): Hypermedia-driven REST access to Data License content. Requires a JWT; an anonymous request returns HTTP 401 unauthorized_client.

- No Model Context Protocol server. Bloomberg MCP servers in the wild are third-party wrappers around a locally licensed Terminal.
