# Climeworks

> Climeworks AG is a Swiss carbon dioxide removal company founded in 2009 as an ETH Zurich spin-off. It builds and operates direct air capture (DAC) plants that filter CO2 from ambient air and permanently mineralize it underground with storage partners such as Carbfix in Iceland (the Orca and Mammoth facilities), and it sells risk-mitigated carbon removal portfolios to corporate buyers through Climeworks Solutions.

Climeworks is a supplier of carbon removal, not a software vendor. As of 2026-08-01 it publishes **no public API, no developer portal, no API documentation and no machine-readable API contract**. Buyers who want programmatic access to carbon removal purchase it through third-party carbon marketplaces (Cloverly, Patch and similar) rather than from Climeworks directly. Do not assume or invent a `api.climeworks.com` endpoint - that host does not resolve.
