# Cumbuca

> Cumbuca is a Banco Central do Brasil-licensed Payment Institution that provides regulated "proxy" access to Brazil's Pix and Open Finance networks. It maps 1:1 to the official Open Finance Brasil / Central Bank API specifications, forwarding cryptographically signed requests so fintechs can build directly on the regulated rails without holding their own license (certificate swap when they do). Founded 2021, São Paulo; backed by Lightspeed Venture Partners and Y Combinator.
