# Fetch Robotics > Fetch Robotics is a provider of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) for manufacturing, distribution, and fulfillment. Its robots (Fetch, Freight) are programmed through a ROS (Robot Operating System) interface rather than an HTTP/REST API. The company was acquired by Zebra Technologies in August 2021; fetchrobotics.com now redirects to Zebra and the autonomous-mobile-robot line is being wound down (2025-2026). The open-source ROS packages remain published in the fetchrobotics GitHub organization. ## Overview - Programmatic surface: ROS (Robot Operating System) topics, services, and actions — not an HTTP/REST API. - Standard interfaces: control_msgs/FollowJointTrajectory (arm/torso), control_msgs/PointHead (head), geometry_msgs/Twist (mobile base), sensor_msgs/Imu (IMU sensors). - Conforms to ROS Enhancement Proposals (REPs) for code portability across ROS robots. ## Source Code (first-party, open source) - fetch_ros — Open ROS components/drivers for Fetch and Freight: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/fetch_ros - fetch_gazebo — Gazebo simulation for Fetch/Freight: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/fetch_gazebo - robot_controllers — Real-time control infrastructure: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/robot_controllers - fetch_open_auto_dock — Autonomous docking: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/fetch_open_auto_dock - rosgo — Pure-Go ROS client library: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/rosgo (https://pkg.go.dev/github.com/fetchrobotics/rosgo) - flow — C++14 multi-stream data synchronization: https://github.com/fetchrobotics/flow ## Docs - API overview (archived): https://github.com/fetchrobotics/docs - GitHub organization: https://github.com/fetchrobotics ## Catalog artifacts (this repo) - packages/fetch-robotics-packages.yml - conformance/fetch-robotics-conformance.yml - lifecycle/fetch-robotics-lifecycle.yml - security/fetch-robotics-domain-security.yml - well-known/fetch-robotics-well-known.yml ## Ownership - Acquired by Zebra Technologies, August 2021: https://www.zebra.com/us/en/about-zebra/newsroom/press-releases/2021/zebra-technologies-to-acquire-fetch-robotics.html
