# FXMacroData > Real-time central bank and macroeconomic data API for FX traders, quantitative analysts, AI agents, and developers. FXMacroData provides a REST API, a Python SDK, and a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server for standardized, timestamped macroeconomic indicator data sourced directly from official central banks and statistical agencies in 22 currency areas. Data is updated within seconds of official publication. Supported currencies: AUD, BRL, CAD, CHF, CNH, CNY, DKK, EUR, GBP, HUF, ILS, JPY, KRW, MYR, NGN, NOK, NZD, PEN, SEK, THB, TWD, USD. Free access (no API key, no account, no expiry): USD announcement data for the most recent 90 days, with each release readable 15 minutes after publication, including the `/v1/announcements/changes` feed; the USD release calendar; USD official press releases; USD COT positioning; and, for every currency, the data catalogue, forecast coverage (`/v1/predictions/coverage/{currency}`), market-session status and risk sentiment. Keyless traffic has a fair-use allowance of 100 requests per day. Forecast values (USD included), every other currency, FX rates, commodities, real-time releases and full history need an API key. The Individual plan for solo engineers and one-person projects, including commercial development, is $50/month with a 14-day free trial, the Business plan for incorporated businesses with two or more people is $250/month with a 14-day free trial, Enterprise is for large organisations and is a custom agreement arranged directly with our team, and a Commercial Redistribution add-on is $10 per audience block per month. Plans differ by permitted use, not by which currencies or indicators they unlock. There is no Startup plan. Release timestamps: `announcement_datetime` is Unix epoch seconds in UTC and `announcement_datetime_local` is the publisher's own timezone. Where an official release calendar covers the period, the timestamp is captured from the release. Where none reaches the period, it is derived from the median publication lag measured on that series' own confirmed releases and the row carries `release_time_assumed: true`; `data_quality.assumed_release_time_count` sizes the derived portion of the window. `data_quality.point_in_time_safe` describes the requested window, so one derived row clears it for the whole response and long histories commonly return false — gate on the per-row flag instead. Forecasts: served by `/v1/predictions`, never mixed into released values. `prediction_class` says how a number was produced (`compiled_consensus`, `forecaster_survey`, `market_implied`, `model_nowcast`, `central_bank_projection`, `institutional_projection`, `fxmacrodata`) and `prediction_source` names the publication. Availability is set by the publisher, not by the plan: many releases have no compiled consensus from any source. The API is for server-side use and does not send CORS headers to browser origins. Pagination: list endpoints return 20 rows by default and accept `limit` up to 100. To read a complete range, repeat the request with `offset` set to `pagination.next_offset` until `pagination.has_more` is false. - Announcements endpoint: `GET https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/announcements/{currency}/{indicator}` - Release calendar endpoint: `GET https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/calendar/{currency}` - Coverage manifest (all currency/indicator pairs, no key): `GET https://fxmacrodata.com/data-coverage.json` - Per-currency coverage: `GET https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/data_catalogue/{currency}?include_coverage=true` - Endpoint capabilities: `GET https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/data_catalogue/{currency}?include_capabilities=true` - FX spot endpoint: `GET https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/forex/{base}/{quote}` - Example (AUD policy rate): `curl -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" "https://api.fxmacrodata.com/v1/announcements/aud/policy_rate"` FX pairs are served where **both** currencies are in the supported list above; a pair with an unsupported leg returns 404. ## Conversational examples (prompt → endpoint) Use these patterns when an agent maps a user question to an FXMacroData call: - *"What was the latest RBA policy rate decision?"* → `GET /v1/announcements/aud/policy_rate?limit=1` - *"When is the next ECB decision?"* → `GET /v1/calendar/eur` (filter the response on `indicator == "policy_rate"`) - *"Compare CPI in Australia and New Zealand over the last 12 months"* → two calls: `/v1/announcements/aud/inflation` + `/v1/announcements/nzd/inflation` - *"Has the BoJ moved yet today?"* → `GET /v1/announcements/jpy/policy_rate?since=` - *"Show me G10 inflation prints scheduled this week"* → loop `/v1/calendar/{currency}` for each G10 currency, filter to `indicator == "inflation"` within the date window ## Supported Currencies, Central Banks & CPI Publishers Format: code — central bank (policy series) / statistics publisher (consumer price index). - AUD — Reserve Bank of Australia (RBA) / Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) - BRL — Banco Central do Brasil (BCB) / IBGE - CAD — Bank of Canada (BoC) / Statistics Canada - CHF — Swiss National Bank (SNB) / Federal Statistical Office (FSO) - CNH / CNY — People's Bank of China (PBoC) / National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).
