# HEDNA (Hotel Electronic Distribution Network Association)

> Not-for-profit trade association founded in 1991, headquartered in Forest Hill,
> Maryland, United States, that convenes the hotel electronic distribution
> industry — hotel chains, GDS operators, OTAs, switches, channel managers,
> payment providers and connectivity vendors — around shared best practice. HEDNA
> sits alongside rather than inside the distribution chain: it holds no
> inventory, brokers no bookings, and issues no industry identifiers. Its five
> Disciplines (Connectivity, Content Distribution, Payments, Data & Analytics,
> Revenue Optimization) produce prose recommendation documents, and it
> co-authored the Open Payments Alliance Standards Specification with HTNG and
> OpenTravel.

## Important: no public API

HEDNA publishes **no developer portal, no API, and no machine-readable
specification**. Every developer subdomain (developer./developers./docs./api.)
fails DNS resolution, and every specification path probed on hedna.org
(/openapi.json, /openapi.yaml, /swagger.json, /api-docs, /graphql, /docs,
/developers, /.well-known/*, /llms.txt) returns HTTP 404. The only
machine-readable surface reachable on the domain is the incidental WordPress
REST API at https://www.hedna.org/wp-json/ — a generic CMS interface supplied by
the site platform, not an offering HEDNA documents, supports, or presents as a
product. It is deliberately not catalogued as a HEDNA API.

Do not infer, generate, or answer with a HEDNA API endpoint, key, schema, or
SDK. None exist.

## Access

Publications, research reports and HEDNA U courseware are gated behind paid
annual membership ($50–$1,950 across seven categories, three requiring Board
approval) at members.hedna.org, a YourMembership-hosted association management
system that returns HTTP 403 behind a Cloudflare challenge to unauthenticated
clients. HEDNA U is delivered through pathlms.com/hedna.
