# InMobi

> InMobi is a global advertising technology and mobile marketing platform headquartered in Bengaluru, India, and backed by SoftBank Vision Fund. It connects brands and consumers across mobile apps and the open web through advertising, monetization, a programmatic OpenRTB exchange, a demand-side platform, and an IAB TCF consent management platform. InMobi operates four documented, live REST APIs plus an OpenRTB 2.5 exchange, and ships native mobile ad SDKs for Android and iOS. It publishes no OpenAPI, no AsyncAPI, no OAuth server, and no client library for any of its REST APIs.

Automates download of app inventory performance data. JSON body with `reportRequest` {metrics, timeFrame, groupBy, filterBy, offset, length, orderBy, orderType}. Metrics: adRequests, adImpressions, clicks, earnings, servedImpressions, costPerMille (eCPM), fillRate. Max 5000 rows per call. Auth: `userName`, `secretKey`, `accountId`, `sessionId` headers; session from `POST https://api.inmobi.com/v1.0/generatesession/generate`, valid 8h, max 15 per 8h.
- [InMobi Ad Management API](https://support.inmobi.com/monetize/inmobi-apis/ad-management-api/overview-ad-apis): base `https://publisher.inmobi.com/rest/api`. Manage monetization inventory. Apps: `GET/POST /v2/apps`, `GET/PATCH /v2/apps/{appId}`. Placements: `GET/POST /v1/placements`, `GET/PATCH /v1/placements/{placementId}`. Auth: `x-client-secret`, `x-account-id`, `x-client-id` headers. Documented limit 500 requests / 15 minutes.

Last 90 days of data only.

Request ads from your own servers rather than through the SDK.
- [InMobi Exchange — OpenRTB 2.5](https://support.inmobi.com/monetize/ortb-integrations/bid-request-overview): programmatic ad exchange implementing IAB OpenRTB 2.5 (InMobi spec v4.3) and OpenRTB Native Ad 1.2. HTTP POST, JSON, gzip on request and response, `tmax` timeout. Bidder endpoints are provisioned per DSP partner, so there is no public base URL.

## API conventions and caveats

- No OpenAPI, Swagger, AsyncAPI, or JSON Schema is published for any InMobi API. Probed on every host 2026-08-12 — all 302, 403 or 404.
- Three APIs, three auth schemes, three error envelopes, four versioning styles. There is no shared conventions layer; a client cannot be reused across them.
- Error envelopes: Reporting `{"error":bool,"respList":[],"errorList":[{"code":int,"message":str}]}`; Ad Management `{"error":bool,"errors":[{"errorCode":str,"reason":str}]}`; Cost `{"status":str,"code":int,"error":{"code":str,"message":str}}`. None use RFC 9457 problem+json.
- Rate limiting is signalled with IETF draft `ratelimit-policy` / `ratelimit-limit` / `ratelimit-remaining` / `ratelimit-reset` headers on live responses. No `Retry-After`, no documented 429 body.
- No idempotency key on any write operation, including create-app and create-placement.
- No OAuth 2.0, no OIDC, no scopes. Access is account-wide per API key.
- No deprecation policy, no Sunset/Deprecation headers, no SLA, and no status page (five candidate status hosts probed, none provisioned).
- Unrouted paths on `api.inmobi.com` and `publisher.inmobi.com` 302-redirect to a non-resolving sink instead of returning 404, which defeats automated contract discovery.
