# KACE (Quest KACE)

> KACE is the endpoint and systems management product line from Quest Software — originally KACE Networks (founded 2003, backed by Norwest Venture Partners), acquired by Dell in 2010, now sold as Quest KACE. It spans the KACE Systems Management Appliance (SMA), the Systems Deployment Appliance (SDA), and KACE Cloud. The KACE SMA exposes a REST API (JSON and XML) for managing assets, inventory, managed installs, scripting, users, and service-desk tickets on the customer-hosted appliance.
