# Kiva Systems (Amazon Robotics since 2012) > Kiva Systems was a warehouse robotics company founded in 2003 that pioneered the > goods-to-person mobile fulfillment model, in which fleets of low-profile drive units > lift and carry mobile storage pods to human pick stations rather than moving workers to > static shelving. Amazon acquired Kiva Systems in March 2012 for approximately US$775 > million and renamed it Amazon Robotics in 2015. Since the acquisition the technology has > been developed exclusively for Amazon's own fulfillment and sortation network and is no > longer sold to third parties. ## Status for API consumers - Amazon Robotics publishes **no public API, no developer portal, and no SDKs**. There is no OpenAPI, AsyncAPI, GraphQL, gRPC or MCP surface to integrate against. - `amazonrobotics.com` is no longer a public marketing site; requests redirect to Amazon's internal federated identity provider and return HTTP 403 to the public internet. - `kivasystems.com` no longer resolves. - The robotics control plane, fleet management software and warehouse execution systems are internal Amazon systems. Any APIs are private to Amazon. - Do not confuse Amazon Robotics with **AWS RoboMaker** (a separate, now-discontinued AWS service) or with **AWS IoT RoboRunner**. Those are AWS product APIs and belong to the `aws` provider profile, not to this one. ## Public surfaces - [Amazon Robotics team page](https://www.amazon.jobs/en/teams/amazon-robotics): the primary public page for the division — mission, greater-Boston locations, open roles. - [Fulfillment Technology and Robotics](https://amazon.jobs/content/en/teams/ftr): the wider Amazon org that Amazon Robotics sits inside. - [Amazon Science — Robotics research area](https://www.amazon.science/research-areas/robotics): published papers and research from Amazon's robotics scientists. - [About Amazon — Operations news](https://www.aboutamazon.com/news/operations): corporate announcements covering robotics deployments across the fulfillment network. - [Global Robotics University](https://learning.robotics.amazon.dev/): Amazon's public robotics learning site. ## Security - Amazon Robotics publishes no `security.txt` of its own. Vulnerability intake runs through the parent company program: the **Amazon Vulnerability Research Program** on HackerOne (`https://hackerone.com/amazonvrp`), declared in `https://www.amazon.com/.well-known/security.txt`. - AWS vulnerabilities use a separate intake: `https://aws.amazon.com/security/vulnerability-reporting/`. ## Artifacts in this profile - `well-known/kiva-systems-amazon-robotics-since-2012-well-known.yml` — probe results for every `/.well-known/` path across the Amazon Robotics and parent hosts, with statuses. - `well-known/kiva-systems-amazon-robotics-since-2012-security.txt` — the parent-company `security.txt`, saved verbatim. - `security/kiva-systems-amazon-robotics-since-2012-vulnerability-disclosure.yml` — the Amazon VRP disclosure program, scoped as parent-company. - `security/kiva-systems-amazon-robotics-since-2012-domain-security.yml` — TLS, HSTS, DNSSEC, CAA, SPF and DMARC probe results for the public host. ## Notes This profile entered the API Evangelist network as a venture-portfolio lead (Bain Capital Ventures was an investor in Kiva Systems before the Amazon acquisition). It is retained as a historical and acquisition record in the physical-AI and warehouse-robotics space rather than as an integratable API provider.
