# Lateral

> Lateral was a Berlin- and Hobart-based AI research software company (founded 2013) that built
> machine-learning content recommendation and document navigation tools, including a conceptual
> text-matching API over user corpora and pre-populated arXiv, PubMed, Wikipedia, news and SEC
> corpora. Lateral was permanently shut down on 26 June 2025 and its API, documentation and
> application hosts are retired. The team pointed users to a successor open-source research
> platform at coordination.network.

No live API. The historical Lateral conceptual text-matching / recommendation API is offline;
