# Manticore Games > Manticore Games is a San Mateo-based game developer and publisher, and the studio behind Core — a free, Unreal Engine-powered game-creation platform and metaverse where a global community of creators builds, publishes, and plays multiplayer games and experiences. Core exposes a Lua scripting API for programming game logic directly in the editor. It is not an HTTP/REST API; code runs inside the Core runtime. Manticore is backed by SoftBank Vision Fund. ## Core Lua Scripting API - [Documentation](https://docs.coregames.com/): Core developer documentation home. - [API Reference](https://docs.coregames.com/api/): Namespaces (Chat, Storage, Leaderboards, Input, UI, VoiceChat, Game, World), 100+ types (Player, Weapon, Ability, Vehicle, Inventory, DamageableObject), interfaces, and enums. - [Getting Started](https://docs.coregames.com/tutorials/scripting_intro/): Scripting introduction and Lua basics tutorials. ## Developer - [Creator Portal](https://www.coregames.com/creator): Build and publish games on Core. - [Core Academy](https://learn.coregames.com/): Learning platform for creators. - [Forums](https://forums.coregames.com/): Community discussion and news. - [Support](https://support.coregames.com/): Help center. ## Company - [Manticore Games](https://www.manticoregames.com/): Company website. - [Core](https://www.coregames.com/): The Core game-creation platform and metaverse. - [Blog](https://medium.com/core-games): Core news and updates. ## Notes - No HTTP/REST API, OpenAPI spec, webhooks, or first-party HTTP SDK packages are published; the developer surface is a Lua scripting API embedded in the Core editor runtime.
