# MedicalDirector

> MedicalDirector is an Australian clinical and practice-management software provider, owned by Telstra Health, serving general practices, specialists, and day hospitals for more than 25 years. Its programmatic surface is Telstra Health Smart API+, a FHIR-native integration gateway for approved technology partners to exchange data with MedicalDirector Helix (and, case-by-case, MedicalDirector Clinical). Smart API+ is a gated, partner-onboarded API: publicly announced but with no self-serve developer portal, no anonymous FHIR CapabilityStatement, and no published OpenAPI; the FHIR version and SMART-on-FHIR auth specifics are not disclosed publicly. Access is granted through a partner agreement.

- The API is not self-serve. There is no public base URL, OpenAPI, CapabilityStatement, or /.well-known/ discovery surface. Integration requires a signed Telstra Health partner agreement.
