# Nuance (Nuance Mix)

> Nuance Communications (NASDAQ: NUAN, now part of Microsoft) is a conversational-AI and speech-recognition pioneer. Its developer platform, Nuance Mix, provides gRPC runtime services for speech recognition, natural language understanding, dialog, and text-to-speech, plus design-time tooling (Mix.nlu, Mix.dialog) and a first-party CLI. Runtime services authenticate with OAuth 2.0 client-credentials.
