# Pixie

> Pixie is an open-source, Kubernetes-native application observability and debugging platform built by Pixie Labs (acquired by New Relic, 2020) and now a CNCF sandbox project. It uses dynamic eBPF probes to auto-instrument workloads and capture metrics, events, full-body traces, and logs in seconds without code changes, querying data in-cluster with PxL scripts. The API is gRPC (Pixie Cloud + Pixie Vizier) with first-party Go and Python clients and the px CLI.

Note: pixielabs.ai no longer resolves; the project lives at px.dev under the pixie-io GitHub org. Authentication uses an opaque API key (px-api- prefix). Client libraries are v0.x (pre-1.0).
