# PolicyCheck

> Pre-purchase seller policy verification service for AI agents. PolicyCheck analyzes e-commerce seller policies (returns, shipping, warranty, terms of service, privacy) and returns structured factual data to help autonomous agents make informed purchasing decisions.

PolicyCheck is an intelligence provider — it surfaces factual policy data without making binary go/no-go recommendations, preserving agent autonomy. It extracts structured facts (return window, return shipping cost, arbitration clauses) and labels standard boilerplate separately from unusual restrictions.

## API Endpoints

- `POST https://policycheck.tools/api/check` — Primary REST endpoint. Submit a seller URL or raw policy text, receive structured policy analysis.
- `POST https://policycheck.tools/api/a2a` — JSON-RPC 2.0 endpoint implementing the A2A agent-to-agent protocol.
- `POST https://policycheck.tools/api/x402/analyze` — x402 micropayment protocol endpoint ($0.03 USDC per analysis).
- `GET https://policycheck.tools/api/clause-registry` — Returns versioned registry of all detectable clause types with boilerplate indicators.
- `POST https://policycheck.tools/api/v1/signed-assessment` — Returns Ed25519-signed seller policy assessment for verifiable checkout. Accepts optional `agent_id` and `transaction_ref` fields that are recorded in the audit trail.
- `POST https://policycheck.tools/api/v1/verify` — Stateless verification of signed assessments.
- `GET https://policycheck.tools/.well-known/jwks.json` — JWKS public key for signature verification.
- `GET https://policycheck.tools/api/v1/audit-log` — Returns paginated audit log for the authenticated API key. Supports `from`/`to` (Unix seconds), `domain`, `event`, and `limit` filters. Requires `X-API-Key` header.
- `GET https://policycheck.tools/api/v1/compliance-report` — Returns compliance summary for `?period=last-7-days|last-30-days|last-90-days|all-time`. Includes total checks, top flags, top domains, status/confidence distributions. Requires `X-API-Key` header.

## Key Response Fields

- `policies` — structured facts per category: returns (window_days, return_shipping, restocking_fee, refund_method), shipping (free_threshold_usd, estimated_days_min/max, tracking_provided), legal (arbitration, class_action_waiver, jurisdiction), pricing (auto_renews), privacy (data_sold)
- `clauses` — detected clause list with id, category, description, found_in, and `is_standard_boilerplate` boolean
- `flags` — flat string array of detected clause IDs (convenience field for rule-based agents)
- `positives` — buyer-friendly policy findings
- `analysis_status` ("complete" | "partial" | "no_content" | "text_provided") — check this before trusting results
- `confidence` ("high" | "medium" | "low" | "none")

## Optional: Supply Your Own Policy Text

If the seller site uses JavaScript rendering that blocks server-side fetching, agents can render the page themselves and submit the extracted text directly:
