[Flattr the social micro-payment site, made their API public today](http://blog.flattr.net/2011/01/public-rest-api/).

The API comes in two flavors.

*   [REST API](http://developers.flattr.net/)

Flattr provides [application registration](http://developers.flattr.net/doku.php/register_your_application) and [authentication with oAuth](http://developers.flattr.net/doku.php/about_oauth).

They also have a [Flattr developers forum](http://forum.flattr.net/) to support the community.
